Talking Some New York City Driving Rules;

The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you
see. Grab it.

* Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under
the wheels of your car.

* When on a one way street, stay to the right to allow oncoming
traffic to pass

* Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive body work.

* Always look both ways when running a red light.

* Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only warn
other drivers to speed up and not let you in.

* Whenever possible, stop in the middle of a crosswalk to ensure
inconveniencing as many pedestrians as possible. And if a pedestrian
ahead of you steps into the road, speed up, honk or yell loudly and
chase him back up on the curb.

* Pedestrians have no rights.

* Making eye contact revokes your right of way.

I've been there. There once was talk of putting their liscense tags under their cars... it gives the pedestrian something to read while the ambulance is on the way...

Not Nice, but most of them are true.

You forgot that left turns always have the right of way especially at a red light!

Left & right turns are legal from the far lane but only on a four lane road.

One must come to a complete stop and block all traffic in the lane when making a right turn.

Never use the right lane except to pass.

Middle lane is for slow traffic and the left lane is for those going 10-15 miles under the speed limit.

Always beware of the NYS Self-Appointed Speed Police. They will pull out in front of you for the sole purpose of slowing you down.

Oh and if someone is doing exactly the speed limit or flying past as the speed of sound chances are they are either drunk or from MA.

Sorry Dan, no offense man! Just personal experience.

DL,

No offense taken. We feel the same way about NY drivers, anyway. Especially the ones with NY Yankee bumper stickers.

DL,

The weather is great! Right now its about 55 degrees, in the shade, the snowmound at the end of my driveway is down to 3 feet, there's almost no snow on the roof, and my car is filthy as hell!!! I LOVE IT!
