Always a Marine
The first thing one notices about Corey Petersen is her wheelchair. Ever since that February in 2007, when the 900 pound-snowmobile plowed over her--shattering her T-5 vertebra, collapsing two lungs, breaking half a dozen ribs, busting her scapula and inflicting a multitude of other, comparatively minor injuries--it has been the first thing a lot of “normal” people have noticed about her. It’s the first thing I noticed about her, that’s just how it is.
