Stolen Truck and Dogs, please keep an eye out!
I know this my not be the proper forum for this type of announcement, and I apologize in advance if it offends or is not with protocol.
I too have trained my herding dogs under the gudinace of BOB VEST. I have nothing but praise for this man and his training methods. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR THIS TRUCK AND BOB"D DOGS, thank you! From: Kath, Steve J. Subject: Stolen Truck - Missing Dogs If you are involved in herding, you may know the name of Bob Vest. Bob is a good friend and one of the best clinicians I have ever worked with. The knowledge and patience he has shared with me and my Corgis has been one of the greatest gifts I have received. The reason I'm writing is that I've just heard that Bob had his truck stolen, along with his beloved dogs who were in the kennels in back. Bob could care less about the truck. He just wants to get the dogs back. Here is what I know: Stolen: Dodge Ram - 2007 Big Horn Edition - Silver Diesel Pick up Truck -- Truck has Iowa Plates HH578 or HH576, owned by Bob Vest. Dog box in the truck with 3 Australian Shepherds - 1 black tri male with a long tail - 1 black bi female with a bob tail and 1 blue merle male with a bob tail. The truck was stolen from a restaurant in the Flickerwood, Missouri/ FRUITLAND MO, area. Anyone have information or seeing the truck should notify the police in that area. Please let everyone know about the loss of these dogs. It is our hope that they can be found. If anyone hears anything they can call me at home which is 651-489-6361 or at work which is 763-954-5027 Steve Kath An other point of contact with information: gaff2pn2@aol.com

Herding Instructor's Dogs Stolen Posted: Dec 6, 2007 01:44 PM EST Herding Instructor's Dogs Stolen By: Heartland News JACKSON, Mo. - A man's truck gets stolen, but even more importantly, the stolen truck was carrying very precious cargo Wednesday night in Jackson. Bob Vest's three-quarter ton silver Dodge truck and three dogs were stolen in a parking lot Wednesday night around eight o'clock. Vest is a judge from Iowa. He's also a dog herding instructor. Vest will be at the Flickerwood Arena this weekend with a seminar for herding. His three dogs were with him for that teaching seminar. The vehicle was seen going south on I-55 but it was not spotted at a location where a police officer was set up to look for the vehicle. If you have any information about the dogs, please call the local police station.

All Is Well
From KFVS12 news:
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. - Police have found a truck and three dogs, stolen Wednesday night from Jackson's Drury Inn motel near Fruitland. The dogs are OK, and are back with their owner Bob Vest. Both Jackson police and the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department handed the dogs over to Vest just a Thursday night, but officers are keeping the truck overnight. Bob Vest is from Iowa. His dogs are Australian Shepherds. They're in town for a herding seminar at Flickerwood Arena this weekend. Vest left the dogs in a dog box on his truck last night, while he went inside his motel lobby. He walked back outside, just in time to see someone speeding off with his truck and the dogs. One of Bob's friends says Bob will go ahead and stay for the weekend and he will use the dogs in the seminar as planned.
