They hung the name "SANDMAN" on me b/c I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime or under any conditions.
Then we had the guy we called "FROG" b/c he was so jumpy anything could or would make him jump.

I got hit with Iceman, Smokin Joe, and Hobbes. Iceman stuck the longest though.
Must be something to do with my coooooool demeanor!

When I was with SOG
I had a recon team RT Lighting, They called me RTLT. One of my NCOs was Mad Dog the other was Slick because he stepped out on a skid one day and slipped and did a gainer and a half into the LZ. My Khmers called me Cobra. Mad Dog picked up on it one day and started calling me Sneaky Snake.

I've had a million nick names growing up but none really stuck. I've always liked initials like John Paul you'd call him JP and etc.

Little John stuck for the longest time. Especially while in the Army but I liked the one that I had at Ford while a foreman the most. My men had a jacket embroidered with it before I was transfered to Atlanta but they didn't like me wearing it here. "Short Shit #1," gotta love it. Still wear that jacket when it gets cool down here and they can cover me wearing that jacket with a flag when they put me in a box.
