Long Shadows, Short Memories

?While they?re alive, they?re dangerous?, seems to be the train of thought in the Middle East! The names of Saddam Hussein and his sons still invoke fear in the hearts and minds of many in Iraq, and why not?!

With Billions in US Dollars, Euros and other negotiable currencies (apparently) still in their control, loyalties in the area still dubious, and a network of terror still intact, the media continues to push the fear factor worldwide!

This phenomenon is not all that different from the ?Hitler Scenario? of the mid to late 40s and beyond! With many a Nazi still on the lose, and Hitler Himself rumored to be still among the living, people feared an encore performance of worldwide mayhem at any moment! As a matter of fact ?Nazism? never really died out totally, just as Communism too has survived in some corners of the planet, China, Vietnam, Korea and Cuba, just to mention a few! ?And if the size or scope of the beast doesn?t invoke the fear that it use to, the stinking nukes (and/or technology) that they have exported worldwide, sure as Hell does!?

Getting back to Saddam Hussein and that ?Rat?s Nest? of equally odious wannabes that infest a few other nations in the world, with Saddam still on the prowl (maybe), the people of that region fear (to an extent) retribution against those who defy the will of this madman! They see the bum in every shadow, in every alley, and even in every dream, or rather nightmare! The years of fear, abuse, deprivation, and outright murder, are embedded deeply within their minds, and for many, it is there to stay!

Thoughts of our pull out from Vietnam and Somalia (and what happened there) still conjur-up panic in portions of Iraq! The possibility of an equally maniacal counterpart in Iran (or elsewhere in the Middle East) marching in to take up where Hussein left off, genuinely has some of these people in abject panic! Add to this the fact, that the propaganda mill is grinding out ?Lying Tripe? about what we (US) will do to a newly freed Iraq, and the mood in some parts of that Nation remains somber indeed!

Also, not only is the memory fresh of France, Germany and Russia?s financial rape of the region, but also a genuine fear exists that some other rising (dark) star is in the offing! The Middle East, after all, has no shortage of would-be Caesars!

Add to this potentiality the fact that, the disengagement from Iraq of the nations that I mentioned above is beginning to look like only a temporary exodus, and some are beginning to wonder what in the Hell is kicking lose!

The United Nations, France, Germany and others, are already attempting to slowly slip their boots back into the ?Oil-Rich Iraqi Door?, and in my opinion, not enough is being done to prevent this encore! And with Belgium attempting to usurp world-wide (almighty) judicial power into the flow, you have got to wonder what the future holds?

Sure I know the drill - ?This ain?t never going to happen - the Coalition would never allow it!? Well from all appearances, some European nations are already in the process of re-incursion! Ain?t it amazing what a line of (never-ending) bull-shit, and a few cheap bottles of second-rate wine can buy? And with the Kofi-Man still at the reins of the (laughable) United Nations (Just another international sewer of money and power), anything is possible!

?ANYONE FOR GULF WAR III!?

The people of the United States with it?s ?Few Real Coalition Allies? did a magnificent job (twice), but it was still a task that should have been completed 12 years earlier. We had the men, the power and the determination to get it done! Fortunately, the guts of what was left of the Coalition still had the right stuff the second time around the block! But unless we are very, very, careful, trouble could yet boil-up anew in this region of eternal warfare! And if it does, guess who will be called upon again to quench the flames of eternal ambition?

From the looks of things as they now stand, some of those whom we rescued from the fangs of despotism but a short time ago, now seek to step in and take up where Saddam, the UN, France, Germany and Russia left off!
