Default A Hero Comes Home

Today was spent at the grave, this time two years ago I gave a speech to my town about the appreciation of this day. A piece of ground covered with grass, with a lovely headstone just doesn't seem like enough. Nothing seems like enough. My heart reaches out to all of you, I'm sorry, I am so sorry for the HELL you went through, I am sorry about the hell you continue to go though. Tears stream my cheeks cause I will never get it, I'll never understand what you guys went through and continue to go throuh. I don't know what to do, what to say to help, but please let me know, if there is anything a 16 year old girl can do for you...to maybe ease the pain, even if its temporary, I'll do it. You DESERVE it, you guys deserve the world. Thank you so much. I will be frever grateful...

Here's a song called A Hero Comes Home by Idina Menzel

Out of the mist of history
He'll come again
Sailing on ships across the sea
To a wounded Nation

Signs of a savoir
Like fire on the water
It's what we prayed for
One of our own

Just wait
Though while he may roam
Always
A hero comes home
He goes where no one has gone
But always
A hero comes home

Deep in the heart of darkness sparks
A dream of lies
Surrounded by hopelessness
He finds the will to fight

Theres no surrender
Always remember
It doesn't end here
We're not alone

Just wait
Though while he may roam
Always
A hero comes home
He goes where no one has gone
But always
A hero comes home

And he will come back on the crimson tide
Dead or alive
And even though we know the bridge has burned
He will return
He will return

Just wait
Though while he may roam
Always
A hero comes home
He knows of places unknown
Always
A hero comes home

Someday they'll carve in stone
"The hero comes home"

He goes and comes back alone
But always
A hero comes home

Just wait
Though while he may roam
Always
A hero comes home

PEACE be with you,
God Bless

Default Taylor,

Your family knows and understands better than most the horror of war. Those families who have suffered the ultimate loss understand that better than most. War itself is simply "Hell on Earth" but often good men and women are sent off to endure the ravages of hell. Those who survive with their honor intact and have done their duty to protect the rights and freedom of others are indeed heroes. Your uncle was indeed a hero who didn't make it home. Blessings upon you and your family. You are one special young lady mature beyond your years in your understanding of the implications of war and of the older generation.

Keith

P.S. Your are intelligent and kinda cute for a blonde.

Default Thank You Taylor:

Thank you Taylor for your very kind thoughts. I agree with the responses from 82 Rigger and Keith Hixson. YOU DEFINATELY ARE MATURE BEYOND YOUR YEARS. Too bad that other teen agers do not possess your attitude and maturity.

Your words have definately touched all of us here on this forum. I know that you brought inner peace to me while I read them!! Thanks for making our world just a little brighter by your presence and thoughts. Bless you.

To all of my Vietnam Veteran Brothers and Sisters I want to again wish you all a most HEART FELT and Sincere:

WELCOME HOME
