You stupid Idiot, Gray Davis
I have taken a snipit of the proposed budget plan for 2003 - 2004 for the state of california.
Tell you what, if this goes through I will be looking for a new job in a new state. Here is the short version of what I am interested in which is found under the Health & Human Services portion. Governor Gray Davis State Capitol Building Sacramento, CA 95814 Phone: 916-445-2841 Fax: 916-445-4633 Other Medi-Cal Program Changes Optional Benefits Elimination?Currently, Medi-Cal offers all 34 federally-optional services. Due to limited fiscal resources, the Administration proposed to eliminate eight of these services in December 2002 for savings of $126.5 million ($63.3 million General Fund) in 2002-03 and $548.1 million ($274 million General Fund) in 2003-04. The Governor?s Budget proposes to eliminate an additional ten optional benefits for 2003-04 savings of $175.6 million ($87.8 million General Fund). These include the following: (1) hospice, (2) nonemergency medical transportation, (3) optometry, (4) optician/lab services, (5) physical therapy, (6) prosthetics, (7) orthotics, (8) speech/audiology, (9) hearing aids, and (10) durable medical equipment. Pursuant to federal requirements, these benefits will still be provided to children under 21 and beneficiaries of long-term care services. The savings estimates reflect the partial shift of beneficiaries to mandatory services, such as physician or emergency room services. Figure HHS-14 summarizes these benefit eliminations. Also: The Governor?s Budget further proposes to eliminate State-funded cancer research as existing research contracts expire. This will capture savings of $12.5 million in 2003-04 and annually thereafter. For those on Medi Cal & Medicare So you loose a limb in california - no prosthetic for you. Need a wheelchair? Take out a loan. Physical Therapy - get some weights You can read for your self the proposed budget here you will be hearing more form me on this one. |

Have you ever noticed that when cuts are made, where the bloody ax tends to fall? What's next? Will the gas passers (anesthesiologists) in emergency rooms be restricted to bodily gases only? Although there is nothing legally amiss with being either a conservative or a liberal, is there a new level of political ideology here that we are not aware of perhaps? Does Gray Davis (and others) qualify as a "Selective Conservatives", or a "Vacillating Liberals" perhaps! Hell, why not have Hertz and Avis submit bids for a new and exclusive ambulance service, CPR optional and at a slight extra (out of pocket) charge! Davis might even want to install a meter on these meat wagons and when a certain charge has been reached, the patient is dumped out, no matter how close or far he (or she) may be from the hospital!! "Mein Gott In Himmel!!"

A Common Denominator...Friends.
Being similarly screwed-over perpetually by politicos here in similarly: "For The Children"(actually For The Teachers) New Jersey, I've noticed that no matter WHOM TAKES what from WHOM,...The WHOM on the victimized end are always: "We The (Schnooks)" and/or TAXPAYERS FOR EVERYTHING of The Private Sector. Whereas, The Public Sector (Local/State/Federal) is always well taken care of,...even if we were to have A Depression.
Basically, The Public Sector (paid for ENTIRELY & GENEROUSLY by The Private Sector) has the best of all worlds (best pays, best medical and best retirements), and in general don't have to cut corners or accept less to survive, like the rest of: "We The (Schnooks)" must normally do? Nothing but The Best for The Public Sector and/or Public Servants(? some joke). Why is that??? Are Our Rulers, Managers, Controllers and even foreigners more important to America than the overall American Citizenry? It certainly seems so. Regardless, and whether in New Jersey, California or whatever State, I do believe that we most all have something in common. It being that we're all politically victimized to some degree. Some more, some less. Sad, but true. Don't you think? Neil |
