The Wall

"There are many kinds of walls that mankind erects in his travels through life!"

There are physical walls, such as the one that separated the two Berlins or the one that spans the wilderness of China.

There are mental walls, such as the one that nations build in their minds to villainize (right or wrong) their worldly neighbors.

There are religious walls that grant a nation the right to slaughter in the name of racial purity or religious intolerance.

And most of all, there are the walls of ignorance. Walls, big and small, that always come crashing down whenever mankind makes the time, and then expends the effort it takes, to educate and enlighten his family and himself in the true meaning of peace and harmony!

To quote Charles Dickens: "It is at this time of year that the need is more sorely felt", and during this Christmas Season, I pray that most walls (but not the walls of privacy, self-determination or sovereignty), come crashing down, and are eternally dissolved like the hostile and selfish ghosts of Christmas Past!!
