First visit to Orlando VA
Dad had his first appointment in Orlando VA today.. The V A is nice I liked it alot (yes i went with him.. He isn't going anywhere new with out me ) Getting there was a pain in the BUTT. But the visit was nice.. There was this little 5 year old boy there.. He walked up to dad and asked if he fought in the war.. Dad was like yes I did.. The boy said "Welcome home" Brought tears to alls eyes that was there.. His mom was came up and told us sorry if he is bothering us.. Of course he wasn't.. Dad looked at her and said I hope you keep raising him the way you are he is going to be agreat person when he gets older.. Then he said I have been welcomed home by all ages.. But this young man is the youngest yet.. You could see the tears in her eyes.. She said he hears his grandpa say it to ppl and now he says it too.. I think that is the most awsome thing I have heard in a long long long time...
and with that I want to welcome you ALL home and have a great day.. love ya Your friend and God Bless, Tina

You know Tina I'm hearing it more and more too. And to tell the truth it still fell real good and I know the people are really starting to mean it . instead of just say it. Welcome home everyone. Happy Veterans day 11-11-2004

Tina :
Awesome story. You are a great person and daughter. I never fail anymore to say to any veteran who served overseas in any war " Welcome Home Brother !!" It means a lot !. Larry

I wear my 4th ID hat, and I have people come up to me and thank me for my service, and tell me welcome home. I know they mean well, but I still have problems with it. I don't know if its because of the way we were received when we came home, or is it just hard to accept. I feel that I didn't do anything than other Veterans did, I served my country when they called.
