Default The beer,...

... could be cold, but it isn't,...

...the ground could be dry, but it is'nt,...

...thoughts could be somber, but they are not,...

...peace could be at hand, but the world can't stand down,...

...first b-q of the season, trickle of sprinkle,..

...fight of the moist wood for a dance of flame, but worth every second of muffled warmth with a southerly breeze on an eve of spring,...

...The scent of pine nestled amongst the gentle crackle of the fire stokes the fondest of memories,...

..."Lest we forget",..

...

..."Lest we forget", a profound statement, where did ""Lest"" come from,...

you're sounding quite profound there....... Lest sounds like Shakespeare to me. Could be wrong. It was touching to my soul the other morning when I got up to make coffee at 4:30-- to hear the birds chirping. Yes, God exists. He rewards us for surviving the miserable grayness of winter. Life is good.

We are having the driest Spring here in 100+ years...our Martins ( birds ) came back 2 weeks early....has never happened in 15 years here.. the little birds I call "snow birds" ( small gray with white bellies ) are still here, has never happened either...there is a hurricane in Brazil..and I hear the volcano under Yellowstone just moved again, and is ready to blow........a very bizarre year..

Mother Nature still runs things no matter how well we plan and build she can take us out in a heart beat. don't fool yourself she still does what she wants when she wants. It sort of puts things into prospective. No matter what polititions promiss us mother nature could put a end to us all at anytime. so enjoy life and what you have while you have it. May 1981 my uncle had the nicest cabin right on the toutle river next thing you know he owns fifty feet thick mud from Mt St Helens and the river is now 1/2 a mile away from his mess. go figure.
