Immigrant Group Sues Virginia Colleges

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Immigrant-rights groups are suing seven Virginia colleges for allegedly following the state attorney general's advice to deny admission to illegal immigrants.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court, contends that the schools' policies usurp the role of federal immigration authorities. It was filed on behalf of unidentified students who either attend or have graduated from Virginia public high schools.

The suit follows an advisory opinion issued last year by Attorney General Jerry Kilgore recommending that all Virginia colleges deny admission to illegal immigrants and suggesting that admissions officers report potentially illegal applicants to federal authorities.

Such action punishes hundreds of high school students whose illegal status is no fault of their own, who were brought to the United States by their parents, said Andres Tobar, co-chair of the Immigrant Legal Rights Coalition.

"We cannot deny a whole generation of young immigrant children access to higher education," Tobar said.

Kilgore spokesman Tim Murtaugh said nothing in federal or state law prohibits or requires admission of illegal immigrants. As a policy matter, though, Kilgore favors denial of admission.

"We think people ought to obey the laws of society before they take advantage of what it has to offer," Murtaugh said.

The schools named in the lawsuit are the University of Virginia, the College of William and Mary, Virginia Tech University, Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, James Madison University and Northern Virginia Community College.

Officials with George Mason and the community college, however, said their schools allow illegal or undocumented students to enroll.

James Madison and VCU have policies barring admission for illegal immigrants, while Virginia Tech requires students who aren't U.S. citizens to provide a resident alien card or a visa to enroll.

Officials at Virginia and William and Mary declined comment.

Shit like this absolutely drives me crazy!! Why is that we kiss every damned illegal's ass, give them free medical, free education and then deny such rights to native born Americans. Another sign that the Apocolypse is upon us! I once worked in a company that was predominately minority and all they had to do to get what they wanted was to play the race card. What I got out of that experience was that they don't seem to want to work hard to get ahead (like our parents and grandparents or futher back). Instead they whine and say they're being oppressed. I loved the old "No speaka Eengleesh!" bit, until payday when they spoke English quite well if they thought there was a mistake on the check!

Plus, wouldn't it go a long way if The Press/Media and most all politicos of whatever bent started using Correct English, and not just politically-correct English and/or that keeping We Americans ignorantly blissful and unaware of the true realities destroying America?

Granted, previously calling Criminally-Illegal ALIENS (ie. those undocumented sneaking into The Country) as: "Illegal Immigrants" and privy to all Rights as American Citizens was merely foolish and of great expense to The American Taxpayer and helped increase The Voter Base of fools championing such. So, and since only monies and politics was at stake, MANY (myself included) really didn't care. Let the non-productive and/or politicos and some foreigners have their fun.

However, and since such an asinine nonsense (as no other country on earth does) of calling: "Criminally-Illegal ALIENS" instead; "Illegal Immigrants"(Liberal words conjured-up to pacify The American Citizenry), and unfortunately nowadays IS ALSO CAUSE FOR LOSS OF AMERICAN BLOOD,...shouldn't the Nations Informers (political or otherwise) stop being so politically-correct and/or overly-sensitive to foreigners? Shouldn't all concerned be more so concerned about American Lives INSTEAD?

Besides, and since living in A Nation comprized 100 PERCENT OF IMMIGRANTS (American Indians immigrated here thousands of years ago down The Bering Staits),...isn't it quite foolish and downright insulting to ALL Americans to classify: "Criminally-Illegal ALIENS" as "Illegal Immigrants". All true Americans aren't criminals.

Granted, lordly and/or politcal minds see nothing wrong about such foreigner-patronizing and nationally-suicidal nonsense. But, so what? The truth of the matter is that"They" work for us, as much as "They" seem to think otherwise. That's right my friends,...dictates and all, but"We" ACTUALLY don't work for "Them". Now, if only "We" could convince "Them" about that.
Wouldn't it be nice?
