Waste of Time, Chapter II?

Following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the Warren Commission set to work, interviewing witnesses, gathering documents, and reconstructing timelines. It was composed of numerous political luminaries, and after months of work, issued their findings which were immediately met with doubt, disdain, derision and other emotions. The basic premise of the Report was that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole perp, and he alone fired the fatal shot and the wounding shot into John B. Connally, a finding disputed by even amateur ballistic spokesfolks.

Now comes the 9-11 Commission, and on day 1, decides that the several valid offers to deliver bin Laden into US control never happened or would not be allowed into testimony. These offers have been verified, and the entire history can be read in "Losing bin Laden," by Richard Miniter. Eliminating this critical episode from the 9-11 Commission is akin to the Warren Commission starting with a flawed premise, and then manufacturing events to support their hypothesis.

Probably so... it is the nature of intelligence gathering and protection of sources to gather a lot more than is useful and to protect sources just in case, even when they have no information or are not worth protecting.
