Bonus March II
Packo was asking for info regarding a new "Bonus March" on Washington concerning all the recent events pertaining to the ongoing assault on veterans benefits taking place by the current politicians in office. This may be a place to start?
I received this today from the American War Library and an infantrymen group I belong to. ###START### To: infantrymen@yahoogroups.com From: "Reference Desk" Yahoo! DomainKeys has confirmed that this message was sent by yahoogroups.com. Date: Tue, 06 Dec 2005 23:04:44 -0500 Subject: [infantrymen] If You Serve, You Deserve: A Call For Bonus March II If You Serve, You Deserve: A Call For Bonus March II IF YOU SERVE YOU DESERVE Bonus March II: A New Beginning http://members.aol.com/vetsofamer/bonus2.htm World War I fought almost 100 years ago. Today the men and women who fought in WWI are dead, only a handful may remain. Today's elder generation are Vietnam War veterans... they, too, are rapidly fading into distant memory. The American veteran population with living memory of their WWI great-grandparents are aging. Within 20 years the majority of American veterans who served in Vietnam will be in their seventies and eighties... rapidly approaching a time when they will be dependent on others to assist them perform daily activities and needs their youth took for granted. As this inevitable future approaches veterans benefits continue to narrow. More and more veterans express apprehension toward applying for reducing benefits. Others who succeed in obtaining medical and other benefits tell horror stories about the vicious competition between vets to get the attention they feel they require. Meanwhile, veterans organization membership, and the political power once enjoyed by America's ancestral vet groups, dwindles. American veterans must come together now in a single movement to ensure they have the medical and life-support benefits they will soon need. Veterans must resist all efforts by well-financed and organized anti-military and anti-veteran organizations who are actively competing for limited social service dollars. The freedom of all Americans was bought and paid for by the men and women in uniform. Everything must be done to compensate them for their sacrifice. IF YOU SERVE YOU DESERVE The American War Library Continues to Call for Bonus March II: A New Beginning. Demand your Veteran's group get involved before it's too late. Gimpy,
Thanks for posting this.....I agree this needs to be done but after accessing Arrow's Link....looks like this guys a real sleeze. Hopefully enough Vets groups will get the message and begin organizing. I never heard back from the Vietnam Veterans of America.....so they, like my congressmen, get the boot. I will begin a quest with DAV etc. as soon as I can get some time. Sis, thanks so much for researching this.....I wouldn't have...guess I trust too much. Pack

Sis & Packman
Sorry about that.
You're right, I normally check things like this out thoroughly before I post them. Been kinda busy the past few days and didn't afford this E-mail the time and effort it needed to confirm it's authenticity. Please disregard it and it's content. We'll just have to do it on our own I guess. PS--------Packo, I'm working on this end with my DAV chapter and MOPH chapter to try and get something started as well. Keep us posted on your progress.

Lady and Gentlemen...I use the second term very loosely! Just kidding fellas!
Where I live there is very limited contact with other vets, even through service organizations. The only place I can contact them is through the VA, we all know how much they frown on political actions at the hospitals. I am willing to do whatever to help this cause, just point me in the right direction and I'll do all I can. Steve, you and I have gone round and round a few times over politics, think this is an issue we can both agree on and band together to make happen. Not sure the world will ever be the same if the likes of us ever banded together to get a cause noticed! Write or call me brothers! Trav
