Default County Fairs

How many of ya go?

I hate them.....!!!

All ya do is go out there and eat a bunch of Hot Dogs, Cotton Candy, BBQ Stuff, French Fries, Carmel Apples, Watch the pigs, horses, cows, sheep, lambs chickens, etc getting the place a mess.

The rides are getting worse every year. ( makes ya revergitate more often ).

Ours started last Fri and I AINT gonna go.

Get tired of the same ol shi# every year.

Just wanted to know.....

Well see ya later , My ride is here to go see the Demolition Derby, and Powder Puff races tonight, and get some Hot Dogs and Fries ( and a Bottle of SKI ) since there aint no ALCHO allowed there like in Dallas, where they make more maney selling beer than the rides make.

Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!

Did this make your day???????????

enough.........

reeb.............

reeb,

WHAT? WHAT?

You don't like to go to the fair and load up on chili and beer and then ride the mechanical bull?

I always enjoyed them, not as much the last few years.

I liked watching the rodeo sometimes and they usually have a pretty good country artist singing one night(Blake Shelton this year.)

Also like to see all the animals the kids usually show.

The food grosses me out for the most part. All you taste is grease...but hey, I think thats why so many like it...give me home made real food.

Mel,

When I lived in Houston, there were two events I loved to go to...the annual Houston Rodeo, and the Texas Rennaissance Festival.

Great eating at both events, and the Ren Fest had good ale to wash it down with!

Steve

P.S. I LIKE your signature!

I wish we had Ren Fairs here too, would be able to sell my chain maille pretty well at one of those.

I was told by a certain family member that I was going to go to hell for my political views. I just told him he was a boob. Hence my inspiration for my signature. I HATE politics. They can just bring out the worst in some people esp my family … LOL

Mel,

You make chain maille...wow!

Chain maille is GREAT!

You may have heard of Capt. Frederick Benteen, one of Custer's officers at the Little Bighorn.

His family was from Missouri and were Southern sympathizers during the Civil War.
When the war broke out young Benteen accepted a Lieutenancy in the Union cavalry.
His father disinherited him and prayed aloud that a relative loyal to the South
would kill him.
The elder Benteen allegedly remarked, "I hope the first God damned bullet gets you!"

Can you imagine being told that by your own father?

The biggest fair we have here is the Eastern States Exposition (aka: the New England States Fair; aka: The Big E). Like most fairs of its type, its pretty much the same thing every year; horse pulls, ox pulls, tractor pulls, the midway, livestock shows, etc. I haven't been for years. The oldest continuing fair in the US is the Topsfield Fair. It's been operating since 1818.

Default We love fairs!!!

Tom and I have always loved fairs. When we lived in Spokane years ago, we went to the fair every year with our good friends Dick and Ginger. Tom and Ginger would wander around looking at things and Dick and I would critique everyone that walked passed us. So when we moved back to Spokane last year it wasn't very long until it was time for the fair. Who better to go with than Dick and Ginger. Great time. Our fair starts the first week in September and we will be there. There are some things that you can only purchase at the fair.

Keith will probably agree with this but the best fair around is the Puyallup fair. Because Tom and I have lived in a few different states we have a lot of fairs under our belts. I think it might be the Washington State fair, not sure though. They get the best entertainment, one year we saw Smokey Robinson (for free). Last year while we were still in California we went to the Alameda County Fair. Saw the Spinners, Tower of Power, KC and the Sunshine Band, War, and Pablo Cruis (Not all at once)

So anyway, we love the fair.

Tower of Power and Pablo Cruis! Two of my all time favorites. What a great fair that must of been. ToP horns have been with just about every major group of 60's,70's,80's. Have their Anthology CD's. "Back to Oakland".....naw, stay in Spokane!
