The Death Of Common Sense!

Some 231 years ago, Our Founders, along with real men like Thomas Paine, set forth upon this continent, a new nation! With the way that things are going today, however, that noble gamble, along with the words of the great men who envisioned it, may soon, be forced to fall upon their own bloodied sword!

Magnificent words, one and all, are these things called liberty, equality, justice and fraternity. And when coupled with patriotic sacrifice and the common good, they form a cornerstone of tempered steel that no man, nor hostile nation, should ever have dared to tred upon!

Unfortunately, however, some of the basic ingredients of a true democracy are being denigrated, even as we speak, by world-class political hucksters, me-ists spin doctors and warlords alike. And these nation-destroyers, along with the few users and thieves in our midst, domestic and foreign alike, are truly foul and odious creatures. Wily critters one and all, to whom self, internationalism, and the absolute control of the world’s monetary, military and economic systems, far outweighs anything as trite as patriotism, sovereignty, morality or truth? “Wake up my fellow citizens and smell the escaping swamp gasses that are adding their wretched stench to the overpowering forces of global warming!”

The attitudes of a select few politicos in the redundantly televised dash for all of the political marbles, with absolutely no thought or concern for the real masters of our Nation (Her People), has proven, at least to me, that the legal citizenry of our nation are but of a secondary or passing concern - and then, only in times of war, taxes, and/or a State of National Emergency! But what amazes me far more than anything else, is the fact that many of the evils that our forbearers fled the Old World to escape, have tracked our scent to our once sacred shores. And after their poisons of social, economic, and moral decay have devoured the matrix of our being - where will they flee to next? “There are no new worlds out there that are fit to house our species you know?”

The quest for the almighty buck, absolute power, and complete control over our lives and liberties, has now become a world-wide agenda. We no longer control one blessed thing, save for our self-perceived right to police the world, be the on-call yes men of Planet Earth and the United Nations, and that proverbial sucker that seems to be sired each and every minute!

It is not seditious or un-American to desire a return to that time when “We Ourselves” controlled our destiny, our borders, our freedoms and our rights! Rights that were (and still are) being paid for with the blood of true patriots - “And that blood don’t come cheap!” Nor is it too much to ask that our elected government champion the dictates of our own legal - tax-paying majority. And this before the vested whims and agendas of the foreign-based, the politically mighty, the financially connected, or the ego-abundant that dwell in our very midst!

“And should our magnificent nation ever expire, as all nations eventually do, then let us do so with a look of defiance and pride upon our brow, and an unbent spine!”

And last, but certainly not least, let the last words to pass our lips be - “We were the sons and daughters of freedom and liberty, and damned proud of it!” And if our Great Country ever does pass into history (God Forbid), never again will any nation come along to replace it! “The mold has been forever broken!!”
