Bluehawk,
The stats are pretty impressive and they will get bigger but being a super power comes with a cost. Remember only the strong survive and should we kick back and allow certain events to take place we will surely find ourselves on the defense. We will always be in some conflict somewhere at sometime. There are many who want the things we have and will do what they can to take them away or to destroy us totally. We are not a country that will sit back and allow other's to take our ideals away. Freedoms come with a cost and our losses are witness to that. We are very much the same type of people that we were 200 years ago. We win when we work together and for a common cause. We win with our people because of our ability to include all races and religions into our system. We win because our system has checks and balances. We win because our people are dedicated to living the American way - in Freedom. God Bless The United States Of America and People For Which It Stands.

You are correct Boats, war does not determine who is right, just who's left.
For every one of the 42,000,000+ veterans dead since our Revolution, there are connected to those names uncountable members of their families. At some point there has got to be an end, or else we will end. Peace, Bluehawk |

When I was in High School we learned that research was done to find out how long there was peace in the world.
At that time, they concluded that there were 4 years of world peace in recorded history. This total came from adding a small number of days here and there. No time has been added since then. Africa has the most ongoing wars at the present time and the population has not dropped. The population of the world does not seem to be wired for peace.

True enough...feels better to ask for peace than for war though.
I wonder of being wired for war means eventual total annihilation, maybe not though, since it hasn't happened already. Interesting figure, 4 years of peace and none since. |

4 years of peace in 5000 years and none in the last 30.
No surprise there.

When I wrote that first post in late July, all I was actually thinking was to show the list to anyone, the poll idea came later, an afterthought. I was just seeing what the National Cemetery Administration shows about our fallen, final resting places and such... quite humbling, so much death.
Maybe, if I live long enough to become an old-timer on Patriot Files like Frank, the worst anyone will be able to say about me is that I always tried to end war. |
