Post Common Sense Medicine Revisited

10-21-2017
(My Personal Opinions)

“There are certain things in life that are just common sense!” Among these, and as “Our Founding Fathers” understood, are “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness!” Of course, none of the above means very much if a person’s health is being held as a captive to greed or big business! “And this, of course, certainly goes contrary to all of “The Laws of Common Sense!”

It is, after-all, very easy to look upon another’s suffering from afar - to transiently sympathize, and then to quickly pass over the pain and tragedy of others. But when one forgets the old adage: “Never judge anyone else, until you yourself have personally walked in their shoes”, then you have definitely removed the human from humanity, in my opinion!

“Quality and affordable health care is not a right of the privileged alone!” Nor can you ever explain to a child, the elderly or any other human being for that matter, why they are being denied quality and readily accessible health care, and maybe even life itself? Nor should decent medical treatment be held as a hostage by those within the insurance industry, to whom it is all just a good and profitable business!

“This is your life and the lives of your families that we are talking about here”, and not just some inanimate lump of lifeless clay that can be washed away and forgotten, like so much dirt upon a muddied boot - for once gone, no amount of after-thought can ever bring back a human life! “And once again - this is not the archaic world of Charles Dickens or Ebenezer Scrooge, where unnecessary death and suffering are just an acceptable and unavoidable part of life!”

In short - let our highly trained medical professionals do what they do best – the preservation of human life and the easing of suffering - and this without the dangerous interference of those within the insurance industry whose primary concern is the bottom line alone!!

And Above All – “Please leave the practice of medicine to the professional doctors who are trained and dedicated to the preservation life, and not to those within the insurance industry (and elsewhere), who sometimes view patients merely as dollar signs!”
