General Technical Services (GTS) has received a $67 million contract to provide soldier tactical/expeditionary power and energy generation services in support of the US Army Communications Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), the company announced on 11 September.

The single award contract has a one-year base period plus four option years.

Under the contract, GTS will support the CERDEC, Command Power and Integration directorate, Power Division, located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, and Ft Belvoir, Virginia.

To support the mission, GTS will provide scientific, engineering and analysis services as well as prototypes for evaluation for various programmes to advance the generation, storage, management and distribution of tactical and expeditionary power and energy.

Mari Kovach, CEO, GTS, said: ‘GTS’ 25-year partnership in providing CERDEC with comprehensive and reliable scientific, engineering and technical support highlights our client’s continued confidence in our solutions and services. We look forward to continuing our service to CERDEC and the Power Division mission as it advances technologies and mission effectiveness for our soldiers in the field.’

O Almighty Lord God, who neither slumberest nor sleepest; Protect and assist, we beseech thee, all those who at home or abroad, by land, by sea, or in the air, are serving this country, that they, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore in all perils; and being filled with wisdom and girded with strength, may do their duty to thy honour and glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
