Revelations & Redemption!

They say that the truth will set you free, but to some in power, the truth reacts more like a crucifix to a vampire, than an enema to a constipated cow!

Are there, like many a politico now insists, differing shades of truth? Is everything now encapsulated only in shades of gray, where black and white, right or wrong, have ceased to be way of life? Now, or so it seems, one man?s truth, is another?s arsenic?

The time was, when a man?s word was his bond. You were only as good as your pledge, and a liar was something to be disdained and avoided at all costs. Nowadays, however, the lie is promoted, and those with real proficiency in falsification, no matter who is hurt or how badly, can rise to be a real star in politics and/or big business. As a matter of fact, people no longer question how one attained wealth, position or celebrity just that they have it!

The good book of words (dictionary) defines ?Revelation? as - ?To take delight in and indulge freely?, whereas, ?Redemption? is listed as the payment of a debt or obligation.

In today?s society, apparently these two often-contradictory acts have been mismatched and wed into an unholy union? All too many people in fact, now take a morbid delight in ?NOT PAYING? our hereditary debt, to our past as well as our future! And as such, we are spitting in two directions at the same time!

?When did the dignity of our Founding Fathers go out of fashion, and for that matter, when did our debt to future generation fall from favor?? Not only have we all but abandoned the wisdom of the past, but now, we even ignore our responsibilities to American children yet unborn!

If you think that this analogy is far fetched or flawed, then I ask you politely - When before, in our brief though illustrious past, have we ever embraced the needs of foreign entities before our own, or abandoned belief in a Devine Being en masse, or promoted the grotesque as normal and totally acceptable? And worse of all, why do we now accept the testament of liars and social cheats in place of honor and truth?

?When indeed, save for right here and now!!?

Our debt to the past, or ?Founders? if you prefer, entails adhering to the time-tested brew of righteous ideologies that they envisioned as our eternal legacy - the honor, the truth, the integrity, and the dedication to all things American, that went into the matrix of corner stones that supports true liberty, both in rights and responsibility! ?For only through this dedication to righteous ideals, can we even begin to approach any hope of redemption!?

Lastly, to be redeemed, something must yet exist worth saving. Be it solid or esoteric, body or even spirit alone! One can not redeem, after all, that which is beyond all hope, and until one reaches the shores of the River Styx, he yet has time to attempt change.

This is not a religious diatribe that I have engaged in here, but rather a confluence of opinions - ?MY OPINIONS!? And even though our society is based upon a separation of church and state, nowhere is it written that there must also be a rift between common sense and basic survival, until now that is! (opinion)
