Thumbs down Obamacrats target the american military

BAMACRATS TARGET THE AMERICAN MILITARY

The article below, quoting Barney 'Far Left' Frank, says it all. He is putting the American people on notice that, under an Obama presidency with the Democrat party in control of Congress, we can expect a 25% reduction in the budget for our military services and personnel. Most certainly that appeals to the far left, radical, anti-war gang but the rest of us need to pause and contemplate what that future looks like while we are on the way to the ballot box on November 4th.

We are currently on the ground in two fighting wars: one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. These are specific theatres of action in the much larger, world wide war against terrorism. There is light at the end of the tunnel in Iraq as the government there increases it's capacity to defend itself each and every day. Given the length of our troop presence in Iraq, our future on the ground participation in that beleaguered nation is a much shorter time frame than the years we have spent there to date. That is good news.

There is no visible end to the tunnel, let alone any light, in Afghanistan. It remains a struggling and unstable country with a fledgling and fragile democratically based government that is on life support. Although NATO is theoretically in place there, the reality is that the fighting is being done primarily by the American and British military. By all appearances, this will be a prolonged engagement for us with no real prospect of withdrawal on the radar.

Most importantly, the long war is and will continue to be the global war against terrorism. Jihadists are patient, determined, dedicated, smart and utterly ruthless. Here in America, we are flat fortunate to have had more than seven years without another severe attack since the devastating blows of 9-11. Regardless of your political bent, one does not need to be a rocket scientist to know that our luck will not last forever. The jihad against our country has not gone away. If it takes a century to bring us down, jihadists are willing to wait and continue trying.

The only viable way to pursue the war against terrorism is to stay on the offensive, as we have been since 2003. No one likes war but even more fundamental than that, no one wants their families to fall victim to blood thirsty terrorists bent on the destruction and elimination of the American way of life. There are no shortcuts here. We cannot withdraw and wait to be attacked. The choices are uncomplicated: either we take the fight to the terrorists or they will bring it to us. Those who believe otherwise are simply living in a fantasy world. One only need study what the jihadists themselves promise to fully understand the enemy we face.

So what do the far leftists amongst us advocate we do going forward? 'Far Left' Frank wants to cut the military budget, while we have troops on the ground fighting in two wars, by one quarter. Those to the left of him want to cut it even more if not emasculate it altogether. At a time in history when America is in the cross hairs of jihadists around the planet, the far left wants to so diminish our military as to put our nation on a path to devastation.

Some will argue that if we were just nicer to our enemies, they would leave us alone. We simply need to sit down and talk with them. How naive! As terrorist leaders like to often repeat, people will follow and support what they perceive to be "the strong horse". Because we have been the strong horse in recent years, attacks against our homeland as well as American interests around the world have diminished. Back away from that posture of strength, and we will once again be victimized as we have been, off and on, since the 1970's. Those decades of violence came to an abrupt halt the minute we took to the field on offense. If we withdraw into a defensive posture we will be hit, repeatedly.

If we are attentive to what those currently running for office have to say, there is a clear difference between our presidential candidates. Obama speaks of dates certain for withdrawal. Democrat "leaders" in Congress speak of cutting the military budget. The far left blames America for 9-11 and supports Obama because he spoke out against the Iraq war as an little known Illinois state politician. Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid are strident advocates of withdrawal and retreat back to the homeland.

Can you see where all this is going? Will you vote Obama and thereby embolden the jihadist movement worldwide? Are you prepared to undercut the military while we have troops in the field, fighting the war against terrorism?

Think and choose carefully when you vote next week. Terrorists await the outcome of this election in order to make their plans going forward. Our fate is exclusively in our own hands.

If, God forbid, Barack Hussein Obama, the bastard son of a Kenyan bigamist and socialist wins the presidency, you will see an exodus of senior NCO's and officers like the exodus that occurred during the administration of Jimma Carter. The 'SDI' shield that is practically on-line will be scrapped, along with most major weapons development.

I have already advised my two sons to get their letters of resignation ready. Son #1 already has his 20+ good years, so his pension is secure (for now, at least!), and son #2 can probably get twice his current 0-3's salary on the outside.

And like Algore, Da Dims will steal any vote they can, and the military is the easiest target. Da Dims are the worst enemy in front of our warriors, because it's obvious that Da Dims are behind them.

More phony soldier stuff

October 26th, 2008
This morning, as I began reading the Washington Times, my eyes were assaulted by this image;

This is an Obama supporter going into an Obama rally in Fayetteville, NC over this caption;
PHOTOGRAPHS BY J.M. EDDINS JR./THE WASHINGTON TIMES Charlie W. Williams of Raeford, N.C., a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and supporter of Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama, lines up early to get into a rally at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville on Oct. 19. “He’s going to get a lot of white votes,” he said of his candidate
I get real suspicious of veterans who wear all of their medals when they’re not in uniform. Although we’re usually proud of what we’ve earned, we don’t usually wear all of our “bling” because it looks too much like bragging. So I started checking the medals and ribbons on Willie’s left breast (Lord knows I don’t want to get started on the right breast full of Unit Citations). So I blew up the picture;

I also looked for images of Army Medals and discovered that I also needed to find some Navy Medals, too.
The highest award is two awards of the Bronze Star, one with a ‘V’ for valor. Since it’s illegal to claim a medal for valor you’re not awarded, I absolutely believe that, without further evidence to the contrary. The rest are (in order viewers’ left to right and descending);
Purple Heart/Army Commendation Medal
Defense Meritorious Service Medal/Army Meritorious Service Medal
Reserve Component Overseas Training/Unknown/Army Acheivement/Good Conduct
Army of Occupation/Southwest Asia Service (Desert Storm)/Vietnam Service medal (3 stars)/National Defense
NATO Medal/Korea Service/Armed Forces Service Medal/Army Service RIbbon
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal/Army Overseas Ribbon /Navy Meritorious Unit/Navy Combat Action
United Nations Service/RVN Campaign/Multinational Force and Observers/Outstanding Volunteer Medal
Aside from the fact that his ribbons are all out of order (something a career NCO would never do), he has the Southwest Asia medal for Desert Storm, the Armed Forces Service medal (which is for service after 1992). He’s also wearing a Navy Combat Action ribbon, which he only could’ve earned as a member of the Navy or Marines. He also has an Overseas Service Ribbon which can only be awarded to people on active duty after 1981. His National Defense Service Medal has an oakleaf cluster, subsequent awards of the NDSM are denoted by a bronze star device not an oakleaf.
Willie is wearing medals and ribbons that didn’t come into existence until after he left the service since he says he was in Korea and Vietnam. He wears a star on his CIB so that means he had to have been in the Korean War before July 27, 1953. Since his Good Conduct Medal has five knots, he must’ve served between 15-18 years (each knot is three years of service) but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did twenty, that means he retired before July 1973 and many of the medals he wears didn’t even exist at the time he retired and they’re awarded for service he couldn’t have. And there’s still one medal I haven’t ID’d yet.
A few weeks ago, I busted out a warrant officer on Military.com who listed every conflict since Vietnam as wars he’d participated in during his thirty year career. Questioning him and comparing his profile to his medals, we narrowed his wartime service down to just the Global War on Terror - and surprise - he was an Obama supporter touting the IAVA report card.
Zero Ponsdorf and Wpage sent me this article about phony soldiers from the Chicago Tribune. They seem to be everywhere.
If you’ve been in the military, just be proud of your service for what it was, you don’t need to make stuff up to be accepted. Cheezum crow.
Welcome, Gateway Pundit readers.

Revisit Willie Williams and meet a new phony soldier

November 27th, 2008
I’m sure many of you remember “Willie” Williams from a post I did more than a month ago.

(see photo above)

Well, it took a month, but we’ve finally got Willie’s records and actually, he had quite an impressive career in the Army. He had several tours in combat as an infantryman, including tours in Korea, Dominican Republic and 2 tours in Vietnam. He earned three Bronze Star Medals - two for merit and one for valor - and a Purple Heart. His tours in Vietnam were with the 101st and the 173rd in ‘68 and ‘70 respectively - both were airborne units.

Willie stayed Airborne the whole 25 years, the 187th RCT in Korea, the 101st, the 82d, the 173rd - even the old 2/508th Airborne Battalion in Germany (I think it was in Weisbaden). He went to Escape and Evasion School (the predecessor of SERE School) and the 82nd Division Raider Course (predecessor of Recondo School) - so it’s beyond me why he decided he needed all of the other stuff to pump himself up.And he was only 5′5″ and 123 pounds - he was the original Little Billie Badass.

As far as all that goes, I commend him. And, in fact if you go back to the first post, I didn’t question SFC Williams’ awards for combat service - it was all the ancillary BS crap he wore that I questioned - like the glider badge (the school for which closed the year before he enlisted) and medals that didn’t come into existence until nearly two decades after he left the service.

Is this an apology? Nope. I was criticized once recently for not unloading both barrels on him, but I kept my critique in the realm of what I knew from the picture. Willie was wrong for wearing all of that silly shit. Period. And so is anyone else who claims things they didn’t earn - civilians do that and we’re better than civilians.

Here’s another phony soldier claiming stuff he didn’t do (on a tip from 1CavRVN11B);
William Devereaux, the department’s director of veterans programs, was arrested Monday, issued a summons and released. A court hearing has not yet been scheduled.

In announcing the arrest on Wednesday, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said the 63-year-old Laurel Springs resident invented a false history of combat heroism in the Vietnam War. The prosecutor’s office said its investigation was prompted by information provided by the county Office of Veterans Affairs.

Prosecutors said Devereaux falsely claimed on military benefits forms for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that he served as a paratrooper and artilleryman during the war and was injured multiple times. He also claimed to have received medals including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star with “V” device.
See? They always claim they’re paratroopers, I dare you to determine which political party Devereaux belongs to from the AP story. He was appointed by McGreevey, so that’s the only hint.

That’s Deveroux on your left in this picture;

I’ve been unable to find anything on his party affiliation, but I found an example of his deception;
