China's missile claims merely propaganda: official

Chinese military claims that its hypersonic missiles could sink the US’ Ford-class aircraft carrier, are a cognitive-warfare response to the failure of similar missiles in the war in Ukraine, a national-security official said Friday.

Ukraine’s military on May 16 said it had shot down six Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missiles using US-made Patriot missile defense systems. This was seen as a blow to Chinese propaganda efforts, which have touted China’s Dongfeng hypersonic missiles as a strategic advantage and a threat to US territory, the official, who chose to remain anonymous, said.

Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post on May 24 reported that in a Chinese wargame exercise, Chinese forces destroyed a Ford-class aircraft carrier using 24 Dongfeng-17 (DF-17) hypersonic missiles. The report was later shared by Chinese-language media in Taiwan. The claim was similar to one that previously circulated saying the DF-17 could wipe out Patriot missile systems, but recent events in Ukraine showed that to be unlikely, the official said.

Another recent report claimed by Chinese media was that China’s H-6 bomber would cause the USS Ronald Reagan – a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier – to flee in order to avoid attack.

“The H-6 is a bulky high-altitude bomber. It would be very difficult for reconnaissance planes and the fighter jets accompanying them to approach a carrier strike group,” the official said.

“Such propaganda from China is a routine occurrence, but with cross-strait tensions high for such a long time already, fewer and fewer people pay heed to the propaganda.”

DPP condemns China for breaking Hong Kong deal
‘OPPRESSION’: While urging China and the Hong Kong government to comply with the joint declaration, the DPP criticized China’s changes to its anti-espionage law

In a statement marking the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) yesterday denounced Beijing for openly reneging on the Sino-British Joint Declaration, turning the “pearl of the Orient” into a place of “nightmares.”

Together with the Hong Kong National Security Law, China’s amendments to its counterespionage law, which went into effect yesterday, would only bring more fear and oppression to the territory, the DPP said.

The Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress previously redefined what counts as a spy to include spy organizations or their agents that attack critical infrastructure, carry out cyberattacks against state organizations or intelligence units, or financially profit from such acts.

The DPP said that the expanded definition had caused many foreigners in China and Hong Kong to fear for their personal safety, adding that recent reports of a “blacklist” for Taiwanese in Hong Kong mean there is an increased risk facing Taiwanese doing business there.

Beijing’s oppressive and autocratic rule of Hong Kong underscores how the regime runs contrary to universal values, the DPP said.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) should stop repressing the people of Hong Kong and address the concerns of the international community and those of Hong Kongers by restoring the territory’s freedom and glory, it said.

A ban on gatherings on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre on June 4, as well as on July 1, only shows the world that the so-called promises of autocratic governments are not credible, the party added.

The DPP cited the Mainland Affairs Council as saying that experts, legislators and regular Taiwanese have reported many irregularities when visiting China over the past few years, adding that such acts would not help endear the CCP to the international community.

The party urged Beijing and the Hong Kong government to stop oppressing Hong Kongers, to once again observe the Sino-British Joint Declaration, and allow Hong Kongers to have a greater degree of autonomy and enjoy a democratic society ruled by law.

It added that it would continue to stand on the side of democracy and freedom, and jointly condemn the CCP’s autocratic ways with the international community.

The DPP said it would support Hong Kong’s resolution to defend and seek democracy and freedom, adding that it would also be more resolute in defending a democratic and free Taiwan.

Perhaps they fear leaving this world without a legacy, and if being cruel and evil is their only legacy to make them famous, so be it.]

My thoughts are as follows:

Old history is taught from one Leader to another.

Old history has a habit of repeating itself. Plus; it's the
brainwashing that is taught to them throughout their early
life to adulthood. Then begins their history - that makes them
- what they all are today.

Every Leader preaches their ideology unto their people from once in
office. It's this upbringing that is taught by the old timers - that their history is all powerful. Thereby influencing their ideologies and pressing those elements into them from birth. Which we know is far different in
many of those who are not so radical - but more like a socialist.

Insecurity is never to be considered in that environment or you
may suffer and early demise.

Our History is loaded with battles fought all across the globe.
Survival of the fittest - rule with every breath you take - or
suffer an early demise.

Peace-on-Earth is a wishful thinking. Radical intentions
are forever present. Even with our Nation - we have radical-
intentions - to which many will suffer from their grievances.

So; I ask you what's the fix!? Is there one? Or is it too late!?
