Cool Great Memories

There are two websites that I have enjoyed and wanted to share with you....See if you can remember any of these...

You might want to put in your favorites the second one since there is a lot to view.....

Enjoy.....

Sempers,

Roger

Good stuff. I remeber when we only had 4 tv channels and they only played cartoons on weekends, and yes, it took forever for the tv to warm up

Cool

my family didn't get it's first color TV until 1976 and that was a used one at that, the old one was a black and white and the only way you could get a good picture on it was to give it a whack on the top and a good swift kick, yup I remember getting up on Sat mornings and watching cartoons till about 10:00 am

Default Penny candy

I remember I could get five spearmint leaf gumdrops for a penny. An all day supply for a nickel.

I remember gassing up the 56 ford, taking my best girl out for pizza and soda with five bucks and having enough change for a movie.

I remember fizzies. Basically they were flavored alka seltzer. If you just held them on your tongue.........wooohooo.

I remember riding my bike right down main street with my .22 across the handle bars. Going out to shoot gophers at the old baseball field.

I remember "town team" baseball on Wed. night and Sun. afternoon. The towns pop. was 1200 and at least 600 of them were at the ball game.

Bonomo's turkish taffey. Damn stuff could pull the fillings out of your teeth. But it lasted all day.

Default Bonomo's taffy

oh yeah, and jujubees at the 25cent Saturday matinee (double feature!).
And Dad setting up our first TV - we watched Eisenhower get nominated the first time.
And Mighty Mouse on Saturday morning.

Hey Y'all, I was beginning to think I was the only one left that remembered any of these things. The kids that I'm working with these days don't much know the pleasures of any of these things.
