I would like some help from those who would like to post here. What can be done to keep discussions from getting personal ?
Any help is appreciated !! Thanks.

Default Larry...

I think David?s analysis of the last blowout is an excellent place to start as that was exactly spot-on and exactly the summation of why things have gotten out of control here. Best wishes and I?ll help by being objective as I can when and if I post here. Or if I?m expressing an opinion, I will make it clear that it is a personal opinion.

Well the only suggestion i could think to give you as mainly an observer is that you need patience!

Maybe a sticky reminding us all that we are grown-ups and need to act that way? To respect eachother! Also maybe to think before we type.

Larry,

Where do I send the sympathy card?

But seriously. Our hosts have tried. They even set up an alternate site called libertyfiles.com for political discussions. It didn't work.

My only suggestion would be to delete any post where containing a personal attack. If only a thread can be deleated and not just a post and someone starts adding personal attacks to have a thread removed, have their ability to post blocked.

This election season is going to be "interesting". Ever heard if the ancient Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times"?

Good luck,
Joy

Default You have my Approval

Larry;

Just when I'm about to get in "deep do do" here, just crack the whip on me.

Remember those "that shine a light in the night, didn't know there was any darkness"..

Larry, you will do well, and with a guiding keyboard.

Default deleted threads

I have decided to do the following with this part of PF. I am not going to post here. Post anything you like. If I decide it is not in keeping with what David has set forth as the rules of the web site, I will delete it, and note that I did it.... This includes foul language, personal attacks, and all the rest that we all know should not be here.... Politics can and should be debated here. Calling each other names and politicians names, does not reflect well on us or the folks that pay the bills here. If you feel I have deleted something that shouldn't be, PM me and we will go from there. If you have problems with this policy, PM me if you like. Thanks.

Larry

Well, good luck Larry.

It isn't often that things flare up, but they do (he says, stating the obvious )... and usually for some good reason.

Some of how this Forum has been being handled recently has been real good for it... debate is debate, it is not warfare. Some topics are just too dang irritating for words.

I've always thought the aim of this Forum is to air reasoned views on all sides, for the sake of our nation.

Worth a try.
