Bush, Mexican president mend friendship at regional summit

MONTERREY, Mexico ? Mexican President Vicente Fox strongly backed President Bush's new immigration proposal yesterday amid smiles and handshakes signaling the presidents had ended more than two years of strained relations.

Fox called the Bush plan "an important step forward for Mexican workers in the United States" and urged the U.S. Congress to approve the plan, which would give temporary legal status to millions of undocumented laborers.

"This is what we want," Fox said during a news conference with Bush before the opening session of a two-day international summit of 34 countries in the Americas. Later, he added, "What else could we wish?"

There is no doubt as who Fox represents. Unfortunately, and in my opinion, I can not say that for some of our own politicans!!!
