Wink 1 year in Iraq

Well Folks- it looks like one of My Sons has completed a 1 Year combat tour in Iraq. Adrain left for Kuwait this morning for re-deployment back to the 4th ID at FT. Hood. Expecting him at the end of the Month. Scott II should leave Baghdad with 1st Armor
from Germany in Mid-April. It has been a tough Year. Maybe i can
re-focus once they are home. As you know it is never over. There will still be scars left from the many Heroes that made the sacrifice
My prayers to Their Families. Thanks for Your support and always
posting your positive thoughts.
Take care
TOPP! :cl:

I don't know why anyone in there right mind would want to be part of us, but, even if they don't want to be, they are. Us is all we got so bring them on in.
4th ID and Armord should have a lot in common with these band of brothers.

Hugs and Salutes to your brood, and thanks from a member of the Grey Beard Brigade! Our son #2 is currently in Kuwait, doing the train-up stuff prior to crossing the border into Iraq. He's part of the 312th MI bunch.

Default Glad to hear it!!

My son should follow close behind. He's in 3rd Bde, 1st AD out of Fort Riley. They were already moved north from Baghdad International Airport to Tajif, after their replacement 1st Cav elements came in from Fort Hood. They are expected to return to Riley by April 15, completing nearly a year (they departed April 29/03). I'm waiting the news that his unit has returned to Kuwait, perhaps by the end of this month. He told me last week that a lot of things are already packed. Give your son a big Welcome Home!! from an ol' Doc.
