People Hear - Only What They Want To Hear

Some years back - a politician of my former acquaintance solicited me to write a rebuttal to a piece that was anything but complementary toward him! I immediately questioned why he himself did not personally write it, and was informed that his position precluded from doing so – “Yeah Sure?”

The problem is that some of these bureaucrats often get some ambitious (or delusional) toady to cover their backsides, and this in order to defray any heat that may roll down the political pike in their direction – “Thereby endangering their odoriferous political careers!”

Besides, we all know that people only hear and believe what they want to hear and believe- nothing more and nothing less? And truth apparently has little to do with politics these days, as there is always some pathetic little lackey that is willing and eager to lick the excrement-laden boots of their lords and masters!

Jesus - HC nothing like saying like it is. However the process will continue until those people are no longer in office - but not to say the next person will be any better. It's a tuff battle to get them to listen - we are but a fly spec on a window to them they will tell you they have bigger issues to deal with "heal licking" is key in their position!
