What is REALLY scary
is that four (4) of the US Supreme Court Justices have now come out in public statements that they support the ruling made the 9th Circuit Court ! And that they believe they have the support of at loeast one of the other five !
What kind of lunitics have got sitting on our highest court ?!?!?!? They all had to take an oath swear to God to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, when they took their office. Now they wanty to getrid of God ? I guess they need to do this to help justify, in their own little minds, some of the more ludicrous decisions they have fostered upon the American people. Like was said in an earlier post, these judges have become so satimonjious in their "power" of a life-time appiontment, that they are now more concerned with their personal agendas and the "rights" of the minority of the population of the US, than they are in doing what is truely right and just and in the best interest of the MAJORITY of the population. At least the judge announced he was putting his ruling on "hold" until the case can be reviewed. US Attorney General Ashcroft has also stated that he will seek review of the ruling by the entire 11 members of the 9th Circuit court and not just the three who made the initial ruling (actually onkly 2 of the 3 voted to ban the pledge. Let's all pray and hope that more reasonable minds will prevail in the review. The jerk that brought the case has stated on TV that he will continue to file cases to get any and all references to God or any form of higher power removed from all facets of our society. I hope that someone finds a way to "lawfully" remove him from our society. I'll be willing to pay for his ticket to Afghanistan - 1-way of course!

well
It seems that history is lost on a lot of people. When the Constitution was accepted (and the Bill of Rights), what our founding fathers were saying was, ?Hell you don?t have to be an Episcopalian or Congregationalist, you can even be Catholic or Jewish (you just can?t own land if your one of those, but it?s still ok.) Until the 20th century a person?s testimony in court could be impeached if it could be proven he/she was an atheist.
The first amendment only says that the government will not establish an official religion. The idea was you weren?t going to have to pay taxes to a particular church. The ?Under God? was added to the Pledge in 1954 but how does that establish a state religion? It?s amazing how some judges ?interpret? the law. Here in Massachusetts several years ago, a judge made one of those amazing rulings. If you wanted to be a cop you had to pass a physical. The physical including doing 40 push-ups within two minutes and swimming 100 yards. The judge ruled that 40 push-ups was discriminatory against women and the swimming was discriminatory against blacks who might grow up in the inner city and would not know how to swim. (Judge Wyszanski was then promoted to an administration position so he couldn?t make anymore decisions on the law.) No matter how high up a judge goes, when he ?Sits on the bench?, he?s only sitting on his own arse. Everyone needs to remember that and remember that Judges screw up just like the rest of us. It's too bad they have so much authority. Stay healthy, Andy |
