'Tis the season for tech toys and gadgets

This holiday season, there will be lots of tech toys under the tree. According to a recent survey, 91 percent of moms will purchase battery-operated toys and gadgets this year. In fact, they plan to buy more tech toys than traditional toys.

Keeping those gadgets and gizmos powered up can be tricky. Rayovac offers some helpful tips and tools to ensure the holidays are bright and gifts bring joy Christmas morning and beyond.

Super stocking stuffers
When getting trinkets and candy to fill those stockings hanging by the chimney with care - think refills. Batteries make the perfect stocking stuffer to power all your electronic devices. Consider giving a green gift of pre-charged rechargeable batteries so gadgets have a constant power source.

Top toys battery guide
With so many battery-operated toys topping wish lists, Rayovac's Top Toys Battery Guide can be helpful. Available at www.Rayovac.com, the printable guide ensures you have the right batteries on hand. The guide helps you avoid making a mad dash to the store for batteries on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Moms rock the holidays
According to a Rayovac survey of holiday habits, 90 percent of moms surveyed will go to great lengths to make the season magical for their families. Those sacrifices pay off, because 84 percent of survey respondents say their family thinks they rock the holidays. These are just some of the extremes moms go to in order to make the holidays unforgettable:

* The early bird gets the worm - More than 80 percent of moms say they would stand in line in the wee hours of the morning to get a holiday gift. How early? More than half say 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. A dedicated 30 percent say they would even camp out overnight.

* Full-time job - Nearly one-quarter of respondents will spend more than 60 hours preparing for Christmas.

* Holiday traditions - When it comes to holiday activities, moms say they will decorate the house, bake cookies, send cards and host a party.

* Whatever it takes - An impressive 80 percent of moms declare they will do what it takes to get the gifts topping wish lists. Sixty percent concede they plan to fulfill the majority of their kids' gift list wishes.

* Time is money - To get the gifts on the list, moms will spend time driving to multiple stores, scouring the Internet and driving long distances - perhaps across state lines.

* Cash is king - Nearly 40 percent of respondents say they would pay more than the suggested retail price for a hard-to-find gift.

* Family duty - Moms have no problem calling family for backup. In fact, 91 percent say they would ask a relative to check stores in their area for a gift item.

* Santa's helper - Ninety-five percent of moms say they do the majority of both holiday preparations and gift shopping.

* Sharing is caring - Moms plan to make the holidays magical for others, as well; 88 percent say they will support a charity.
