How many more ?

Both my friends and I were born in 1947 , which will make us 56 this year. All of us are heading to the mountains tonight to celebrate Sid's birthday , which is Sunday , for a few days. Sid , who measures time by hunting seasons , figures we have 19 more hunting seasons left. However many I have left - it's been a hell of a ride. I can't complain - wouldn't do any good - I have met, served with and lived with some very special people , you guys included. Thank you. May all of us have peace this year.

If you go hunting only once every two years you got plenty of time. Yep I've been thing about my own mortality every now and then and I'm sure I'll be trying to make a stretch run when my time comes. Life may be a bitch but right now its all we got!

Its just a number.
I find the ones who care about how old you are , are the ones who are jelous or can't belive you made it this long. Eather way, still makes you look good.

I know what you mean , what the heck its about the younkerts now. Teach the next generation how to hunt and shoot . I don't hunt much anymore but I think about it . Its about getting out there in the hills and thats priceless.

High School class of 1965

I've heard it called the Lost Class. They either went to Vietnam or to drugs. I went to Vietnam and a bit to drugs but I ain't lost. I think we ought to call it the Greatest Class.

As a fellow member of the class of 65 , I second that emotion ! I went to Bitnam and lost my younger brother to drugs 13 years ago.
