Default ???made In Usa???

...ordered some things for my car which I've been building for the last 5 years since some crackhead decieded to move it 50' without any skid marks way back when, and the company in which I ordered from lists them as "reproductions", I get um, and there from"Taiwan"...
...just dismayed that this company which sells parts for American automobiles would stoop to deceptive advertising, so I sent them a nice note...........

...In regards to the orders that I have placed just in
the last two weeks, or so...
...I am dismayed that products that you are selling for
American automobiles are from Taiwan,...
...I have ordered inner fenders, and door handles am in
the process of finishing my 71, BUT, I am unable to
believe that you advertise your products
as "reproductions", but not the "Country of origin"...
...I, being a Disabled Veteran of this Nations Armed
forces find it to be very poor buisness practices in
your advertising...
...I, will in turn, seek to take my practice of shopping
to more on a personalized level in speaking with an
associate regarding my purchases from now on other then
the internet...
...No I will not be returning the items, and would
rather crush them, and throw them out,and remember it as
a $200.00 lesson, I'll go buy General Motors at higher
prices rather then go through the thoughts of why I
would return them...
...If, and when I purchase again through your company, I
expect American made, and not to be slighted...
...I'm sure that there are other company's that are more
upfront with their business practices...

It's all over the place Curtis. My genuine " offical" Harley Davidson leather vest was made in Korea my official HD T- shirts were assembled in Costa Rica and the official history of HD book was printed in China - I have even heard the fly wheels for HD engines are made in Mexico now. My friends new Ford Ranger has a Madza engine in it . Let's sing it all together now , money , money , money, monnnnney !

Several years ago, I was a Chief Engineer of a major midtown office building. When ordering parts I always specified that they be american made. One such order was 3/4 inch brass check valves. They weren't the greatest quality and I saw USA stamped on the side.

Long story short they began to fail. I did some research and realised that USA was different from U.S.A. USA is an industrial complex in Japan to trick us. Pure and simple.

Default MY ASS...

...Lesson learned, just pisses me off that a company such as they, and even a company like HD would go that cheap,...
...I would have rather bought used, and then refurbished them then see that my brother has one in,(inner fender) and the door handles on, and then he says"gee, I didn't think they sold shit from taiwan"..."TAIWAIN, WHAT ARE YOU ALKIN' ABOUT, ETC"...
...MAYBE I'll take um out back, and just ventalate um a bit, and send um back, saying here's a new lawn ornament for your company, or maybe they'd like to display it in their showroom, let's see, lot's of 22's 30/30 here, 308 there, and a little 12 guage for added touch, ahh that's nice, how many rounds does it take to take out an inner fender well,(same as a screen door) mount the door handles through the 12's holes, and weld them to a stand, sell it for a cool million, retire, ahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhhaaa, must be the American way to turn adversity to profit....

(very interesting Bill, makes sense to look for the "periods" between the U, and the S, and the A from now on...

My Nike jogging shoes had a sticker ?Made in Vietnam?. My sweat pants and jersey say ?Made in Seri Lanka?. So I suppose my J.C Penny's jockey shorts and socks were made in some ?exotic? place as well. With all this, the only thing made in Americal is myself when I?m buck-naked. My Ma best not tell me otherwise, LOL.

Thumbs down i ordered a small

copy of the 3 soldiers statue from the Viet Nam Wall Memorial Fund. It was small and had a bell jar over it. Small glasss globe that covers the whole unit. I was proud to spend some money to support the Wall and get a nice "Mantle Piece". I liked it it until I looked on the bottom of the base and saw tha Made In China sticker on it. Gave the thing away and will never contribute a dime to the memorial fund. Yeah I know it was probobaly made i Taiwan[the other China] but I don't care. For the price they wanted it should have made in the USA> :cl:

A while back, I ordered a "Cimaron" southwest-style belt complete with conchos & Native American details. It arrived with a tag stating, "MADE IN CHINA." I can hardly bring myself to wear the thing.

Angry

When I needed new bumpers for my 1965 Mustang about 6 years ago, I ordered them from a local shop. I couldn't afford FORD so my choices were made in Japan or made in Korea. I went for the higher priced made in Japan. I set them on the porch until I got the body work done and Pete went out one day to look at them and one was rusting IN THE DESERT. I unwrapped it and they'd given me one made in Korea. I yelled. They replaced it.

Sucks when chromed steel comes out of the package rusted.

Don't agree with all Bush has done but protecting American Steel production when cheap crap is being sold everywhere means we still have 1/2 a chance to buy the good stuff when we can afford it.
