Question They Already Know What's Wrong

9-4-2021 (opinions)

Most politicians know, or certainly have some idea, of what is wrong within their ranks?
And yet, they still spend much of their time chiding their opposition on their perceived failures and shortcomings, rather than doing anything constructive to make this (Our) nation just a little bit better-off for them being granted to distinct privilege and responsibility of their being elected to public office – why is that, do you suppose?

“So just what happens next?”

After spending a term or so blasting their political opposition, and often being just as lack-luster in their own accomplishment, they usually retire amidst the sounding of triumphant trumpets, sorely absent accolades, and of course – heads held-up high like a returning war hero, along with an air of un-merited magnificence! “And all of this while we listen to (or wait for) the next contender to toss his empty crown into the ring of state! (My-Oh My!)”

So what are we to assume from this often reoccurring phenomenon - are we dense, overly trusting, eternal fools perhaps, or just plain perennial suckers – “WHO KNOWS??”

“R I P – OH MINIVER CHEEVY!!”

In my opinion - this is what usually happens when the Bill of Rights are ignored or violated – “AND NOBODY CARES!!!!!!”

Question Bill of Rights - Short Form

Bill of Rights - Short Form & some of my comments
-
#1 Freedom of religion, speech, and press; (whose reports skew the data)
rights of petition and assembly. (not necessarily allowed any more)
#2 Right to keep and bear arms. (now very questionable?)
#3 No forced quartering of troops. (too bad people need company)
#4 No unreasonable searches and seizures. (on occasion)
#5 Right to due process of law, no double jeopardy or self-incrimination.
(but also depends on how good your lawyer is)
#6 Rights of the accused: speedy and public trial by
jury, clear charges, witnesses in defense and
attorney. (Sure - but they to seem to get our early and do it again)
#7 Right to trial by jury in civil case. (I've served on a few - have you?)
#8 No cruel or unusual punishments. (yea too bad - it may slow crime down)
#9 Other rights not included in Constitution. (yea like what? & whose interpretation)
#10 State rights and powers. (which vary state-to-state not universal)
----------------------------------------------------------
The law as I see it after my 75+ years it that it seems more flexible & painless of late.

Amen.
