Sorry I don't share your feelings.........most of the "Homeless Veterans" I have run into have been phonies. Not Vietnam Veterans and not even Veterans of anything other than jail cells, alcoholic wards and crack houses. I have yet to meet my first "Real" homeless veteran. The Philadelphia area is full of them, they're under all the bridges crossing the Delaware and we call 'em TROLLS. None so far have proved to be former members of any military service branch. They print signs "Help a Homeless Vet" and display them at the traffic lights on the approaches to the bridges and along Columbus Boulevard. EVERY one of them who I questioned as to "Where were you and what were you in" gave a BS reply indicating they didn't have a clue about the military.

These guys sit in their wheel chairs or stand with their cruthches, and the main thing being with the sign says Viet Vet/Vet,

Hey guys and gals, the best (?) sign carrier that I ran into was down in San Diego! The sign read: "WHY LIE, I NEED A BEER!"

Surprisingly enough, in the few moments that I was stopped at a light, I saw three (3) people shell out bucks to this guy!

Granted, he may indeed have needed a drink, but a bar of soap wouldn't have hurt him either!

Also, down in Eastern San Diego, a group of such panhandlers infest several local shopping centers. I observed that just before dark, a car picks them up, and they depart, freshly-bought booze in tow!

There are hungry and homelless out there, but many of these pseudo-warriors are bogus to the core! (opinion)

Hell, I'd be FOR adding a "rider" in support of true vets, if that's how best to play the game, to EVERY congressional Bill they put on the docket if it'd help anybody deserving... and I know damn well every one of us here would go for that concept too... without a momentary hesitation...
