Something To Be Damn Proud Of

(I can write about it, but will you listen?!)

One of our greatest allies and international friends is “The British Empire”, but it wasn’t always that way! As a matter of fact, the time was when our two nations were mortal enemies, and had “The Brits” won “The Revolutionary War”, men like “George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Nathan Hale, Button Gwinnett” and a myriad of “Other Genuine American Patriots” all might have been hung as traitors?

But history now records that these men and woman, many of whose names are now known but to “God Himself”, were truly “All-American Heroes, Patriots and even Our Founding Fathers”, and so it should be!” For the bravado and the élan of these magnificent heroes can never be disputed, as their suffering and the deprivations in places like “Valley Forge, Lexington and Concord” can violently attest!

And what about “The English Themselves?” History again records that these people (The British) were not in the habit of being on the losing side of any conflict, and the sentiments and the hatred that existed back then against “The American Colonies”, was no different (in fact) than that which exists today against any empire that seeks to dominate and to abuse – and so it truly was, regardless of what many of those “Historical Revisionist” may attempt to push down our throats, in my opinion! But then, time marches on - and yesterday’s enemies, have often become today’s friends, as history will most assuredly attest! But then, mankind has always been a species that preys almost entirely upon itself, and the amount of “Mayhem and Carnage” that has been orchestrated “upon our own kind, and by our own kind”, throughout human history has been monumental, and often, not even to be believed - And we are a race of creatures that surprisingly strives to cure every fatal disease that is known to afflict mankind, while at the very same time, we continues to develop weapons that can wipe out entire cities (along with their populations), a few of whom, might have even gone on to develop cures for every fatal disease that has ever afflicted humanity – “Go Figure?!”
