'Serious Provocation': North Korea Fires Missiles For 25th Time This Year
By: Romina Faylon - The Latin Times News - 10-09-22
Re: https://www.latintimes.com/serious-p...me-year-529060

North Korea conducted its 25th missile launch this year as it fired Sunday two short-range ballistic missiles to the waters off the Korean peninsula’s east coast.

CNN reported that South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff “strongly condemned” the launches, calling them a “serious provocation” that harms the peace and safety of the Korean Peninsula and a violation of a UN Security Council resolution.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles launched early Sunday morning with a flight range of around 350 kilometers and an altitude of around 90 kilometers.

According to Japanese defense minister Toshiro Ino, the missiles were fired around 1:47 a.m. and 1:53 a.m. local time on Sunday and fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

“This is the seventh time in a short period of time since the end of September that North Korea has escalated its provocations,” Ino told the Japan Times. “This series of North Korean actions threatens the peace and security of our country, the region and the international community and is absolutely unacceptable.”

Just last Tuesday, North Korea fired a missile without warning which flew past Japan, causing the latter’s government to warn its citizens to find shelter.

That missile traveled over the northern part of Japan early in the morning and was believed to have landed in the Pacific Ocean. It was back in 2017 when North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan.

North Korea usually launches and tests missiles into the waters off the coast of the Korean Peninsula, making the launch over Japan that happened on Tuesday considerably provocative.

However, the US Indo-Pacific Command said that the launches “do not pose an immediate threat to US personnel or territory, or to our allies.”

Mystery Grows Over Kim Jong-Un Missing As North Korea Flies 12 Warplanes Near South Korea
By: Nina Siena - The Latin Times 10-07-222
Re: https://www.latintimes.com/mystery-g...r-south-528887

Kim Jong-Un is reportedly missing from the public eye once again and has not been seen in media propaganda for a month despite the country’s series of nuclear missile tests. The supreme leader who typically oversees his weapons tests personally, with 6 test launches conducted in the last 12 days, has renewed fears about the state of his health.

According to the Mirror, on Wednesday, North Korea fired two short-range missiles toward Japan, just days after they had launched another rocket over Japanese territory. This was seen as the North’s display of force that has raised much condemnation from its rivals. However, the recent ballistic missile test has proven to be different from previous ones. The North Korean leader often oversees anything and everything that has to do with the country’s nuclear arsenal but was strangely absent once again from the recent test launches for more than 3 weeks. About a dozen North Korean military aircraft were seen flying in formation near the Korean Peninsula border on Thursday.

Michael Madden, an expert on the North Korean elite, said this was not the first time Kim had vanished from the spotlight. However, speculations have risen over the tyrant’s media disappearance, as this is the longest absence Kim has ever had. Madden added the first lengthy absence by the dictator was in 2014, reappearing for public events with a cane in hand.

The next disappearance was in April 2020, although he may have been avoiding contracting Covid, explained Madden. Current rumors suggest that he may be suffering from health complications as his sister made a public statement that Kim had suffered from a high fever after visiting a region on Sept. 9 that supposedly had a reemergence of Covid.

Reports say that the North Korean leader may be taking a back seat, letting actions speak louder than words, as the country showcases its nuclear capabilities. North Korea, at the moment, has very reliable allies in Russia and China, despite their approvals of the sanctions on North Korea during a UN security council five years ago.

The current unstable relations between the U.S., Russia, and China may prove beneficial for Pyongyang. Rachel Minyoung, an analyst for the CIA said North Korea will likely use the U.S.-China, and U.S.-Russia disputes to its own political and economical advantage. It is believed that North Korea will be using the current chaos as an opportunity to conduct its first nuclear detonation test since 2017.

Personal note:
He was most likely sitting in his underground bunker waiting it out because he
most likely thought Russia and the US/NATO would most likely go nuclear during
this time. Not much to say about his sister of late - I wonder if he knocked her
off? She wants to be the leader - but the little fat man - most likely has her
medicated somewhere else.
-
He's the wild card of the bunch - and launching his rockets - is only a display or
to let the world know he's still around.
-
Plus he doesn't have Trump rubbing his knee anymore.
