...a thousand gomens (sorries) for not coming up on the net earlier to THANK YOU ALL for your very kind wishes...the BIG 60 and except for some aches in places I never knew I had until just the past couple years, I FEEL GR8! I also feel better about myself than ever before...hell...at least there's some good to growing older (but not "old"...ya get old'n'ya die)...just today woke up lookin' down on the grass instead of up at the roots...still waaaay ahead of the game...!

As for some of the comments about how long I've been around the Corps...not as long as some of the Old Salts who break bread with us here, but have finally gained a passage of rights status as to where I'm no longer considered a Boot by too many folks...!

Now for the reason I haven't been coming up on the net as often as I'd like...and I've alluded to it before, I think, and some of you know it from being on the email list I maintain that is known as the MilVet/MilRet List...REASON IS that I am in the process of running for the elected office of Sheriff of Onslow County NC...taking up a lot of time, and we just now are getting placed on the ballot...had to attain 2400 signatures to be placed on the ballot...got into the drill late but we've already attaind 2654 as of 1700 today...have really surprised the competition, and we're told that the "pucker factor" in their camps is about a 12 on a scale of 1-10...! ;o)

Anyway, that's my lame excuse...will report to the DNCO for sandbag filling detail as soon as I get done wallopin' some pots and pans in the scullery...!!!!!
