11-22-2019 03:39 PM

WASHINGTON – Today, Acting DHS Secretary Chad F. Wolf met with Governor Greg W. Abbott in Austin, Texas. The Governor thanked the Acting Secretary for the administration's efforts to continue to secure our southern border, and they discussed strategies to improve upon the progress already being made.*

“Governor Abbott, and the entire State of Texas, has been a reliable and effective partner as the Trump Administration addresses the ongoing crisis at the southwest border," said Acting Secretary Chad F. Wolf. "DHS and Texas have always had an intertwined mission to promote security, and ensure lawful trade and travel at our border. I look forward to working with the Governor as we carry out this important mission.”

"A comprehensive border security strategy is essential to our mission of creating a safer and more secure Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “I'm grateful for our continued partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as we work together to fulfill this mission. The State of Texas is committed to keeping our communities safe, and with the assistance of our federal partners, we will continue to deliver on that commitment."
