Religious Wars Revisited

Mankind has been at war with itself since day # 1, when Cain slew Able for being, what he perceived to be, “The Favorite of God!” Some things, however, never seem to change?

If it wasn’t the “Adam Boys”, it was the Crusaders v. the Moslems, and if it wasn’t them, then it was the European wars that pitted the patrons one saint against another! And let us never forget the Nazi onslaught against the Jews and Gypsies, or the current Jihad in the Middle East. I can not help but wonder how many huamn lives have been slaughtered in the names of religion and predudise?

Here we are in a brave new word, one that is beset with no end of mortal tribulations. Some brought on by nature, some by disease, and others by mankind himself. “You would think that this race would have enough to do, tackling that which is obvious?” But no, humanity thinks so highly of his limited abilities, that he still feels that he can take on the oldest of his illnesses (War) at the same time that be battles Nature itself!

With Global Warming threatening to drown and starve us all, new diseases promising to wipe us out, and hate and bias still out there slapping us around, isn’t it splendid that humanity still has the time to try to beat Mother Nature to the punch by blowing us all out of existence?
