Military separation codes...
...in light of the current situation at home, and abroad...
...crazy as it might sound, but in light of the change in my DD214 after "semi due process", and the status of many of our reservists being deployed, outside of world war III breaking out, and having to "go it alone" as it's said... ...my question is,... ... having a DD 214 that now reads , "JFF"..."Secretarial Authority"... can any one tell me what that "really" means in the real world of "reenlistment" being 40% SC... ...They same discription is also listed under the codes of "LIF", and "NEF" per... ... "http://usmilitary.about.com/library/milinfo/blcode-2.htm"... ...?would I get laughed out of any recruiting office?... ...OR should I just apply to the CIA Your truly "PSYCO CURTIS"

SJ...as it was explained to me, anytime you have a SC disability and receiving monthly pay, you must first prove the injury or illness never happened, or you have had corrective surgery. Second, you must repay all monthly disablity and severance pay.
When i asked if I could reenter the service, the recruiter laughed and said "Maybe if Canada invades, we'll call you"! Sorry brother, that's all I know. Trav

...i just figured I could swap 504. in disability for 504 for one weekend a month, and 2 weeks a year bit, and not be just a syphon of sorts...
...and just plain be a pain in the ass again.......

Codes
The Separation Code on a DD 214 has nothing to do with your ability to re-enlist. That is covered by the ReEnlistment or RE Code. Here's a link to a website that lists the RE Codes for the
Army: http://usmilitary.about.com/library/...o/blcode-3.htm Air Force: http://usmilitary.about.com/library/...o/blcode-4.htm Navy, Marines & Coast Guard: http://usmilitary.about.com/library/...o/blcode-5.htm Having a service connected disability doesn't automatically preclude someone from being in the Reserves. There are plenty of Reservists who are receiving VA compensation. They simply have to sign a waiver of their VA comp in order to receive their drill pay. If you drill for 30 days in a year, you waive 2 months worth of VA comp. Of course certain disabilities might prevent you from being able to join. If you are really interested then the person to talk with is indeed a recruiter. Bill R.
