Default tinnitus

I would like to know if any of you have had tinnitus ( noises in ear ) and found a treatment that was effective. Thanks.

Default Hearing Aid

Seems to help mine, reduces the ringing some but then you have to put up with the hearing aid. Worth an additional 10% on VA comp though.

As a result of actions during Tet '68, I hae a permanent ringing in the ears, and have not been able to find any medical/prosthetic relief. Rather than complain about it, I realized that it was just something that I had to accept, being totally unable to change it. Kinda like dealing with my alcoholism - unable to change it, just dealing with it one day at a time. I view the tinnitus now as a gift from my God, an early object lesson that was later applied to even better use.

Larry,

Same, same, Lt et al. My short experience with a hearing aid just seemed to increase the noise. Have learned to live with it just like pain. After all these years I wouldn't know what to do without it.

Unfortunately, tintinitis is permanent and irreversible, so when you see all those Harley riders puttering down the freeway, pity them, cause they're doing it to themselves.

Default Friends...

Not sure when or from what doctor types heard it from
on TV,...but some-sort-off ringing of ears was stated to be
quite common to about 1/3 of population.

If I remember correctly, only way explained of minimizing
(cannot be eliminated) such was keeping as much water
out of ear canal as possible, and thus as dry as possible.

Tried it.
Sometimes YES and works
Sometimes NO and doesn't.
But then, even prior and before keeping ears as dry as possible,
sometimes noticed ear ringing and sometimes didn't.
So, who really knows?

I've had it since I was a kid. Don't really notice it much unless I think about it. VN made it worse.
Good thing is that it kinda acts like white noise & I don't hear those voices in my head as much.

I combined some Momentum tablets ( for back pain .... as I fell over a cart in our storage facility ) with aspirin for a few days and it gave me a noise like cicadas on the brain, right in my ears... It is a lot better today since I stopped taking all of it.....

Find a good Rap station on the radio....crank the volume up and listen to it for about an hour. Turn the radio off. You will now realize the noise in your ears is not all that bad.
