“Truth”

Beautiful speech in Nevada “Mr. President” – now lets really get down to it and win! Words alone can be mighty things but our actions always speak far louder than even Our Founders’ splendid verbiage!

What makes anyone think that the water problems that are currently plaguing Camp Lejeune are novel? In as few words as possible – the truth must eventually prevail on all things!!! And a golden medallion after all, upon the lapel of any politician may be beautiful indeed, but it still takes the truly precious medal that resides deeply within the hearts of mankind to truly shines through for all freedom loving men and women to eternally see!!!

I am still very tired and feel terrible. Doctor tells me that the pain from shingles will last quite a while. I write when I feel up to it.

What do they prescribe for those shingles other than a shot?
Did they due a blood test to identify it or ?

I think my wife has them as well.

Both daughter's wanted her to go to the doctor she said she
wasn't going to see anymore doctors. Hard headed Italian woman.

She's afraid and with her idiopathic issues - she's on overload as well.

Her back looks like fractured hide and her tremor's of late
seem to be getting worse. She's cancelled all her appointments.
Like I said she's afraid to know she's got additional issues.

I wish they still had doctors that made house calls like the 50's
and early 60's. Call the clinic and bang he was there.

Well I do hope you get back on your feet and hopefully
nothing else is wrong. Are you on meds? What is it that
they prescribe?

I got the shingles shot months ago and recently go the
flu shot. But I have to get set up for the booster for
Corona virus. Had three shots earlier - plus two boosters
and now they have another booster - in case our systems
have weakened.

Are shingles contagious? Or is it something other?

Take care of yourself I'm sure your wife is monitoring
you often - go slow and get rest hopefully it will fade
away and you will be back to your old self.

Doctor just took one look and knew I had shingles. No Shot. At least it did not get into the eye or I would have had to go to the hospital.

Still having problems around my head and eye. Go back to the doctor on 2 December.

How do you get shingles? Is it your immune system or
you came in contact with someone who has/had them!
Your wife doesn't have them - yet - does she?

Anyone you know you've been around that also
has or had them? Or did they have them and you
got'em after that?

A few folks out by us have them I heard but
so far Kathleen and I haven't caught them.

If you had chicken pox when you were young - you have the vivus in your system.

HC - not sure? I had the measles - but the pox & I don't recall
ever having them? I think whooping cough was around then?
Some kids got it - but I don't remember? Mump's was going around.
I think my older sister had them?

Pneumonia was pretty common for awhile I recall. Don't remember
who may have had them?

Plenty of sore throats as well back then.

I guess you never know what you would get back then.

We were all getting shots all the time even at school.
-
Our kids when they were small were always going in for shots
or booster's when they were young per our pediatrician. They
got their shots & booster's periodically. I think that was common
back then and even the nurses at the schools also had a record
of what each kid had or was allergic to.

My younger sister always had fever convulsions. My mom would
have to call the doctor and he'd come to the house and treat her.
Cool baths would break the fever quicker he said. My Mom was a
wreck as Chrissy (my little sister) would have these quite often
back then.

They are all gone now - I'm carrying the torch for them until my
number is up.

I also recall in the service I had two shot cards full of injections
during my 12yrs. More shots when we went to many countries &
Nam back then.

Boot camp as well - as I recall they were also giving out shots.

[One guy in our barrick's came into boot camp from California.
(During that time their was an outbreak of this virus [spinal meningitis]
which could be deadly to some).

I recall one kid in boot camp had this disease back then not sure
what it was or caused it? He was in a rack nexts to mine. And was
found dead in the morning. We went into immediate quarantine for
another 2 or 3 weeks. [Medic's came in (in suited clothing) to check
each of us out; They removed all bedding and mattress - from the
barrack's. The whole building was sprayed down with something to
sterilize the area. Our cloths were all replaced and we were put into
isolation.

Food and medical checks were brought in daily. Blood test and chow.
After that we continued with our training until graduation.

[I'm also allergic to: Penicillin - Keflex - Niacin.]

When I was shot I was injected twice with a double dose of penicillin -
broke out with hives and let's just say they had to purge that crap out
and give me alternate meds.] We never know how each of our bodies
will react to foreign bodies - its our own personal immunity that protects us.

Seems our bodies are all different - our chemical makeup's vary and even
by race it seems.

As you and I already know at our age - our resistance isn't what it once was
- so we have to watch ourselves - and seek medical attention to prevent
those issues from killing us.

God be with you both!
