Just talked to a friend of mine at work. He went Shriping over on the canal last weekend the good news is everyone was getting limits the bad news is the shimping was so good the state want to close it early so the commercial shrippers can get some. And we muse'nt forget the Indian tribes they get a straight 50% before either receration or commercial fisherman get any.

Keith,

Yep, that's the "mighty" Nashua River all right. It's quite a bit cleaner now, though. You can even see all the trash and old appliances on the bottom! And some of the fish must have excellent eyesight, what with 3 eyes and all.

Default Bob?

Where does your ex live?

Doc,
Back in 67 - 69 the Nashua was a mess a big mess. Nothing more than a open cesspool. How in the world did it get that bad?

My guess is with the billions of gallons of water flowing through the canal at 25 - 35 knots and in both directions. It must have a tremendous amount of self cleaning around the canal.

Stagnant areas of the Sound around Olympia, Shelton, Tacoma would definitely build up pollution but Hood's Canal? I have doubts about the accurracy of the story.

You know, I used to be a House Supervisior at a hospital. One of my sayings was that my job was much too important to take serious. I consider myself someone concerned about the environment but it seems like these so called "environmentalists" seem to think the enviroment is much too important to tell the truth about. Wrong! It is much too important to lie about. These idiots, if it wasn't the environment it would be something else to strut around about. The important thing is they like to strut around.
