Default Rogue Warrior's 10 Commandments

"The ROGUE WARRIOR'S Ten Commandments of SPECWAR"
[As defined by USN Commander (ret), Richard Marcinko]

" - I am the War Lord and the wrathful God of Combat and I will always lead you fron the front, not the rear.

- I will treat you all alike - just like sh*t.

- Thou shalt do nothing I will not do first, and thus will you be created Warriors in My deadly image.

- I shall punish thy bodies because the more thou sweatest in training, the less thou bleedest in combat.

- Indeed, if thou hurteth in thy efforts and thou suffer painful dings, the thou art Doing It Right.

- Thou hast not to like it - thou hast just to do it.

- Thou shalt Keep It Simple, Stupid.

- Thou shalt never assume.

- Verily, thou art not paid for thy methods, but for thy results, by which meaneth thou shalt kill thine enemy by any means before he killeth you.

- Thou shalt, in thy Warrior's Mind and Soul, always remember My ultimate and final Commandment. There Are No Rules - Thou Shalt Win at All Cost."

Richard Marcinko's Navy Seal experience has been blown up to make him look like "He's the Man". However if you Google him you may find that his comrades in arms feel he has spiced things up a bit in his remembrances of things past. Never the less, a SEAL is damn good warrior. They don't get there by taking the easy route. In my mind all of the Special Forces in all the branches of the military are like the Spartans of ancient Greece. Warriors to the end.

When I first got to Vietnam we were issued a small card that was a copy of the standing orders for Roger's Rangers, (French and Indian War). I can't find my card but if memory serves there were about a dozen rules. They are in most ways similar to the SEALS but the original American Rangers were better.

The one I always remember best was, You can brag with your mess mates but when reporting say nothing but the truth. Think we can all relate to that one.

Stay healthy,
Andy

Well, so far as I know, he wrote mostly novels... so, that kinda makes sense.

I did learn some things from his writings though.

One of my nephews is a SEAL, in Afghanistan.
