On the TV Series "Jericho" they set off one of these and it was very effective on the Show. Wouldn't want one to go off in my Neighborhood. May have to build me a Screened room(Faraday cage) to protect my Laptop ,only has to be big enough to set the laptop inside while not in use.The one we used in the AirForce was Aluminum/Copper panels with Copper-Screens over the windows and all the Wireing was shielded and well grounded. A walk in freezer or a 40' Shipping Container (Could even protect your car ) would work well to make your own Screened room to protect your Electronics from an EMP bomb!
