Injeel
God revealed a holy book to Jesus called the Injeel, some parts of which may be still available in the teachings of God to Jesus in the New Testament. But this does not mean that Muslims believe in the Bible we have today because it is not the original scriptures that were revealed by God. They underwent alterations, additions, and omissions. This was also said by the Committee charged with revising The Holy Bible (Revised Standard Version). This Committee consisted of thirty-two scholars who served as members of the Committee. They secured the review and counsel of an Advisory Board of fifty representatives of the co-operating denominations. The Committee said in the Preface to The Holy Bible (Revised Standard Version), p. iv, ?Sometimes it is evident that the text has suffered in transmission, but none of the versions provides a satisfactory restoration. Here we can only follow the best judgment of competent scholars as to the most probable reconstruction of the original text.? The Committee also said in the Preface, p. vii, ?Notes are added which indicate significant variations, additions, or omissions in the ancient authorities (Mt 9.34; Mk 3.16; 7.4; Lk 24.32, 51, etc.).?

OK
As was said, I wouldn?t be able to change your mind. If you have a different religion that?s ok. Perhaps it would be good for us to simply co-exist. I?d argue that a number of the points you made are false but there really is no point to it.
Generally, I try to respect all other religions. I?m not an extremist, a concept that can be very dangerous. However Islam does present a few problems for me. In Heaven a man, under some conditions is served figs and other fine food by virgins and young boys. How could that be ?Heaven? for the virgins if they were all standing around serving you? And the young boys, I?m not into that, wouldn?t be my idea of Heaven. If you made it the whole way and got the 72 virgins, that would mean over the years, 18 of them might be PMSing at any given time. That?s Heaven, then what?s Hell? If your mind is made up that Christians and all other religions (except yours) are wrong that?s ok, it?s your religion. But please don?t feel the need to convert, not on this site. We are mostly older men, some of us have read the Koran (Quran) and have rejected it. In the eyes of many the only person who made a famous midnight ride was Paul Revere. Stay healthy, Andy |

Sara...to me there is difference between religion and relationship. My view(and I understand it's not the only view) is religioncalls us to follow a certain dogma regarda God or Gods as the case may be.
Relationship calls us to walk with someone that loves and cares for us as a friend with our best always on their mind. I found a friend in Jesus. He came in when everyone else walked out. Over the years there have been times I have walked away from him but he has never walked away from me. He has always been there calling me by his love to come back to him. When someone loves you like that you just can't stay away. He hasn't explained everything to me yet but his faithfulness tells me I can trust his silence. Religion is much to busy for me. I can't keep up and I get lost and discouraged with it. Maybe that is because I'm such a sinner. I think religion must be made for perfect people or people that think they are perfect or people that think they can be perfect. That would not be me. I just need a friend that accepts me and loves me where I am.And by that love encourages me to livea life that is good for me. Religion may work for you but I think I'll stick with what works for me. A loving relationship full of mercy and grace.
