brain scan
I just wanted to let you all know that I am getting a brain scan Tuesday afternoon. Wish me luck.

Keith I heard they did a Brain Scan on BobK. once. That doc came back and said, " the scan didn't show anything at all."

Had a couple years ago for seizures blackouts which the Drs said was a type of Epilepsy... Electrodes included but could not find the medical reasons at the time... Still have blackouts Some reasons for CT head scans are Headache Seizures Head injury or injury to the face or eyes Dizziness or problems with balance Pain Confusion Behavior or personality change Chronic nasal congestion Cough Swelling in the face, head, or neck May be used as guidance for procedures (eg, brain biopsy) The diagnostics with a head CT include Brain tumor Spread of cancer from another location (metastases) Cysts Congenital brain malformations Bleeding Strokes Aneurysm Swelling due to concussion or other trauma , or due to infection Sinus disease Fractures of the skull, jaw, or facial bones Hydrocephalus (excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the head) Abscess Chronic sinusitis good luck

update
I went to Akron Children's Hospital, which I have had bad experiences with in the past, but the neurologist that my sports medicine doctor recommended was not covered in our insurance so we had to go to Akron. First off, my little sister had a cold so she was no fun in the car. Second, we went to the main hospital and they said that the neurology department was in another building so we went there and it was the wrong building so we had to walk two blocks to find it. From there I saw a nurse type person for about 3 hours, she did a lot of physical tests and then a doctor came in and I saw him for about an hour and a half. I have to get three tests done, some nerve test that they prepared me by saying "most adults don't want to take this because of the pain" a brain scan and some other spine thing. This will all happen in the course of the next couple of weeks. It was 4 1/2 hours of hell. They didn't listen to a word I said and I was very frustrated. So that was my wonderful trip to the hospital.
But from the bottom of my heart I want to thank all you guys for the prayers and concerns, it gave me strength to get through the day. taylor

THe test where they stick needles in muscles and test nerve conduction. I've had it and it is not as bad as it sounds. The needles are teeny, much like acupuncture needles. I would assume they are checking you for a neuromuscular disorder. I know you are scared cut just take it one day, one test at a time. PS My test was normal so that is a possibility for you too.
