Yanno Bresci
Yanno Bresci, age 84, a Colorado Springs resident since 1958, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence. He had retired after over 35 years with the United States Civil Service.
Yanno was born on February 23, 1926 to Filatelfio and Lucia (Aliano) Bresci in Hastings, Nebraska. Early in his career he was employed at the Unites States Navy Depot in Hastings and worked for over 30 years at the
United States Air Force Academy in the grounds, motor pool and rebuild departments.
Yanno was married to Carol Ann Archer on October 2, 1948 in Hastings. Carol Ann passed away in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and tinkering with mechanics. He will be best remembered for his easy going nature and wonderful sense of humor.
Yanno is survived by his four children: Donald L. Bresci of Colorado Springs; Barbara (husband, Jim) Allen of Clio, Michigan; Phillip (wife, Jackie) Bresci of Northglenn, Colorado; and Monica Bresci of Colorado Springs. Mr. Bresci is survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Yanno was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his brother, Fred Bresci; and his two sisters: Ann Gilcrest and Sarah Bresci.
A visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home with Funeral Services at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Shrine of Remembrance America the Beautiful Chapel. Cremation is planned and he will be inurned at the Merman Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Yanno's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250.
