Post My Hero/from Nikki

From: Nikki <mendicino.usa@verizon.net>
Subject: My Hero

I'm going to try and get through this email the best way that I can,
but if I don't do too good, I'm sorry. I've never really asked for
much from anyone, but I am asking all of you for your help and
support now and I know that you will come through. I just learned
that Mr. Kridlo passed away today and I guess that I'm just really
having a hard time realizing that he is gone and that I won't be
able to visit him any longer. Most of you know that if it wasn't for
Mr. Kridlo, I still might not know what a Veteran was and today, I
didn't just lose him...the world lost a hero. He was a Veteran of
WWII who landed at Utah Beach on D-Day and it's because of those
stories that he use to tell me that I am doing what I am. Here is
one of the last pictures that I had taken with him and I can't tell
you what this means to be because I know that my visits to him made
him happy.

He doesn't have much family left as his wife have children have
passed away also and I am asking all of you to help him leave this
earth with the honors that he deserves. I would like to ask all of
the Veteran groups and chapters that know me and support me to
please think about sending flowers to the funeral home, so the
Kridlo family knows that he will always be remembered. He deserves
a hero's goodbye and I'm hoping that we can give him that. The
viewing is Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 and the funeral
is on Tuesday, but I don't have the exact time yet. If any of you
can attend that would be an even better honor and I will be there
for both visitations and the funeral also. He will be at:

Bekavac Funeral Home

If you can't send flowers, but would like to send a card for his
family, please send it to me and I will forward them on to his
brother.

I guess I've covered everything because it's a little hard for me to
finish this now. As long as I live, Mr. Kridlo's stories will live
on with me. I have his jacket from WWII and I couldn't even tell
you what that means to me right now. Thanks for listening, I'll
close with a heavy heart, praying that I have the strength to get
through the next couple of days.
Mr. Krido, thank you so much sharing your stories with me and just
for being my friend, you will always be my hero.

~Nikki~
A friend to all Vets
and PROUD of it!!!!!

I thought I'd pass this on.
