Default Welland Canal Force

I am researching the Welland Canal Force, 1914-1918. On the outbreak of the Great War, the Governor General of Canada ordered a number of Canadian Militia units on Active Service. In Niagara, the 19th and 44th Regiments formed the nucleus of the Welland Canal Force which would provide vital point guards along the canal, hydro electric stations, and the international bridge crossings.
Any info from American papers regarding this force would be appreciated. I have a few items from the papers of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY.
