Default Stopping Thinking

Just curious. Can you name 5 peices of music that make you stop thinking? Here are mine: Rain Rain by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain by Willie Nelson, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Third Movement, Kentucky by the Everly Brothers, Tamborine Man by Bob Dylan. I have more but that is five.

Fred
The one song that really stands out is Mansions of the Lord from the sound track We were Soldiers. I'll force you to listen to the rest of the collection on the way to the mtn

Ravel's "Bolero" (arguably the best piece of lovemaking music ever written)
The Doors' "Riders on the Storm"
Ray Lynch "Nothing Above My Shoulders but the Evening"
Raphael "Music to Disappear In" (Vols. 1 & 2)
King Crimson "In the Court of the Crimson King" (or "Cadence and Cascade"-- the Greg Lake albums)

Let's see...

Gentle on My Mind.....Glenn Cambell

Last Lonely Evening.....Glen Frey

Hello Stranger.....Barbara Lewis

Take a Lot of Pride in Who I Am....Merle Haggard

The Grand Tour......George Jones

Always on a Mountain....Merle Haggard

If We Make It Through December....Merle Haggard

I know it's 7 but they are all of equal importance.

Actually a bunch of what you guys put up there does the same to me also.....a bunch of songs do it. The one from We Were Soldiers also has special meaning but would have never remembered to put it up there.

Gracie...I would have thought "21st Century Szchoid Man" would have been on your list.
