I demand a recount!
Congrats Airborne Buddy! Didn't vote for you, but like you anyway!
Got your message at home late.......will be getting in touch soon. Thanks so much for the postcards. Deb and I thought the Donner Pass would be much more enjoyable in the Winter. Will take you up on the offer when we make it to the Left Coast! Airborne! ALL THE WAY SIR! Packo

Vet, Month of
Yeah, that post card of Donner Pass was interesting. It would have been better if the statue was of a couple of kids sitting there eating grandma's left foot.
Congrads on the VMO, do try to remember to send the previous VMO's our bottles. You don't need to send all that booze this week. Just do it when you can, in alphabetical order. We were still on our magical mystery tour from MO when you called. Too much stress that day, we didn't check the phone till Monday night. Tell us the truth, did you dictate that story to Kath? If not how long did it take old 3 Finger Tom to type that thing? Stay healthy / stay happy, Andy |

THANKS
boys and girls for all the congrats. It's a real honor, and was totally unexpected. I think it was a "TOM" thing . Newest Tom [TLBREAU], start typing a bio now, just in case .
Joy: I live in an area with a large Vietnamese population, and come in contact with many of them. I have NEVER ONCE had one thank me for serving in Vietnam. I never felt welcome by many while I was there. Steve: I left the DMZ in MAY, but I think you're right about Rodriguez becoming Eagle. Original Tom [Packo]: Whadaya mean you didn't vote for me, you hockey puck ? Glad you liked the post cards. You and Deb will have to see it in person with us. Andy: Yeah, I figured as much. I didn't hear for sure [or I forgot] how long you were to be in MO. Glad you guys, also, liked the post cards. I typed all 2,646 words, Bud. It took me the rest of the week, after you let me know I was it. I did try to talk Kath into doing it, but she wasn't going for it. I took it right down to the wire with David and Bernadette. It was like having a deadline for a school assignment . Thanks again for all the kind words, folks.

I'm sorry that no one thanked you.
Our doctor in Lansing, Michigan said his brother is serving the US Navy somewhere in your area. Both are Vietnamese boat people. A man who I supervised (is 37 now) grew up the son of the Mayor/military officer. His father spent 7 years in prison after the south lost. His father and mother are in this country now too. He graduated from a University in South Vietnam and got a job selling cigarettes. He is working on another degree here. A woman (30 years old) whose husband (age 36) got out on a boatlift and whose parents made it out with their children (she wouldn't talk about how). If you met these people and got to know them (they are all quite shy) they would thank you for trying to help them save their country. The ones who got out will do ANYTHING to keep from going back. Please consider this a thank you from them as I know they meant it for all who fought on their side during this long and terrible war. Welcome home, Joy
